Very nice counter bore set that you can get excited about. Mine came in a very nice aluminum case, not the wood case shown. Out of the case boring of aluminum made a beautiful counter bore for a hex cap screw!

The bits are good but the case is not. The case was cut wrong for one of the bits and it doesn't fit. The lid of the case also broke on mine.

The counterbores are sharp and cut very nicely. Huge issue for me though is the pilots. The pilots are way oversized on every counterbore. For example the 3/8 counterbore pilot measures a crazy .405 instead of .375-.380. This leaves way to much wiggle room for me. Shoot it is larger then the call out for a 3/8 clearance drill free fit at .396. I ended up correcting this myself since I missed return window.

Used then the first day I received them. Used for drilling and counterboring gears for mounting them on dies on a press. I have already recommended this set to my machinist’s in the shop and for anybody else! Get set to have!

The general fit and finish is OK. However when boring in aluminium the drill locks up and it's impossible to retract it again. At first i did not want to believe that, but it's reproducible. In a drill press. Small aluminium rings form around the relief behind the front guide, because the drill is not cutting but forming the metal. I was able to fix this with a more generous relief grind. Then everything works.
