Works well, very functional, and simple. fit my r8 bridgeport just fine. I opted for a non coolant model as I have a coolant pump on my machine already and don't have to gravity feed coolant threw the cutter.

Well built, runs true, and just does what it’s supposed to do: Recommended!

Works good on my frejoth mill.... no runout with a 2in annular cutter.....

I have a collection of annular cutters from when I had access to a former shop mate’s magnetic drill. My new shop mates have a JET milling drilling machine with an R-8 collet that they let me use, so I started looking for an R-8 collet to 3/4†weldon shank adapter. There are a few available, but this one seemed to be the only that had (or at least specified) a built-in spring for the pilot. And… it works great! The only issue — and not much of one — is that the spring-loaded part of the collet takes up some room within the collet, so when I tighten the draw bar to hold the collet/adapter, the draw bar bottoms out within it before the collet is seated. That’s easily remedied (temporarily at least) with a 1/2†+/- stack of 3/8†(I think) washers at the top of the draw bar. Long term, I’ll probably order a shorter draw bar, or if not available, I’ll get another of the same and cut a half inch off of it.This thing should work great for anyone who wants to use 3/4†weldon shank annular cutters on a milling and/or drilling machine that uses an R-8 collet.

I wanted to like this arbor. All OD journals are ground and it looks beautiful. I have checked all important dimensions and most were reasonably OK. Even the 3/4" tool bore was right on size, it measured .7502". However the bore runout was .0035" measured in my pretty good spindle. The R8 taper angle was also on a small side and the taper did not make a good contact with the spindle. This could contribute to the runout as well.As several people already mentioned the 7/16-20 thread has an unusually deep counterbore. It does not need to be .350" deep like on mine. .100-.150" is plenty deep, deeper counterbore may cause problems in some machines.I just got several new R8 collets and all of them do not exceed .0005" runout in the same spindle. I do not see why this arbor cannot be made at least as good as regular collets. It is unusable and going back to the seller.

Threads start down in the tool 1/4†further than any other r8, so I had to make a new bolt

You really need this if your drilling holes using anular cutters in a milling machine. I've cut hundreds of holes in a mill just chucking the bits in a 3/4 collet. This is a much better solution by far.

I use it on my Jet Mill JDM-18. It fit perfectly in the Mill. Now I can use my Evolution Annular Cutter (round drill bits) on the Mill, which Mill does a perfect and easy job versus the Magnetic drill that I was using before having the Mill.FYI. (My worry was that, previously I bought an R8 Collet set and some of the Collets did not fit this Mill and were useless). But this Adaptor fits perfectly.
