I had to drop the oil pan on my silverado 5.3 cause of an oil leak so i thought i would replace this sensor too, I have 147000 miles on the engine and while it was out, i replaced it, no issues, and no leaks

Fixed my issue, Went with a store brand last time…was functional but the float would stick. This one was much better quality and worked right away. I knew better.

AC Delco is definitely worth the extra few bucks over the non name brand sensors. I’ve been building an 05 suburban z71 project and as the sensors go out I replace them with AC Delco and never mess with them again.

Pretty easy and straightforward install, during oil change on the left side of the oil pan is a beige plastic plug with a harness attached. Remove harness (most difficult part), unscrew with 1 1/8" socket. Install new sensor in reverse, ensure the O ring is installed above threads. Plug harness in, fill oil and your done. No more check oil level message
