For my whole boating experience all I ever knew was steel cable. This is much nicer! If the strap stays integrated....(Only way to kill a steel cable is to crunkle it) as in it doesn't dry rot, etc..... this will always be my favorite. Installed and tested my new AC-DK 600lbs Heavy Duty Boat Trailer Winch this morning and it did FINE!

Use for my trailer, not for boat. Very handy to pull items on trailer if need it or even secure items in the trailer. Had issue with mounting holes, so I welded to the trailer.

Used it to hoist a canoe out of the creek. It works great good quality.

Rachet prowl sticks, and you need to pay attention to it when using. Second, the location I needed to mount the winch used two U-bolts, and needed to drill two more holes in the winch to use.

Spring on the winch flew out first time I tried to use this winch. If you put too much stress on it, it will jump teeth, and the locking mechanism will fall out of place. Terrible. DO NOT BUY
