Ease of use, it is a plug in and run item. I had wired my house to use LAN, before wireless became reliable. If I want to secure the use of my internet, I can turn off the wireless on my modem. The devices allows me to also permits me to get a true indication of what my upload/download speeds are, for you are actually plugged into the modem. The only time I really have problems is when the connection from the internet server goes down.

i needed a ethernet adaptor for my asis laptop that did not come with an ethernet port.my mistake for not checking.Anyway i bought two other adaptors that seemed as though they would work from cramazon and was disapointed to findout they didnt work.so i tryed this one that comes with extra usb plugs for charging and whatever.I PLUGGED IT IN AND VIOLA.INSTANT ETHERNET CONNECTION. i hate buying somthing that doesnt work and have to send it back.Because [1] i dont want amazon to think im taking advantage of a very good return policy.[2] no matter who's fault it is .it still costs amazon to provide such a great return policy and i dont want to contribute to higher prices or the loss of a great return policy.NUFF SAID!!!!

This works as an adapter, but you will sacrifice speed. My laptop went from 200 on wifi to 90 using this Ethernet adapter. Also, one of the USB ports did not work. Not worth the hassle to return.
