My 2013 Silverado with a lot of miles (235k) was starting to show signs that the AFM was causing more harm than good. It was burning more and more oil, seemed to struggle more when running on 4 cylinders and the shift back to 8 cylinders was seemingly more noticeable. This device has eliminated all of its struggles. Runs so smooth, and a great benefit is much less oil consumption which has to be a big positive for the cats as well. Highly recommend.

OBDDFM Active Fuel Management AFM/DFM Disable Device review 2024. Real user from USA. 07 GMC Yukon with 5.3 flex. Plug in OBD port, turn on key, watched blue lights flicker, waited 30 seconds then started vehicle. Drove for 5 miles to verify operation and perfectly shut off Ve & V6 modes. Verified by watching the heads up display and but exhaust tones. Returned home, turned off vehicle, immediately turned vehicle back on and quickly started the vehicle, drove 10 miles up and down hills and various startsstops. Not a single issue. This review is after 1 week of operation and still perfect function. Placed a piece of black electrical tape across front as during night driving the blue lights are very bright.

Have had this for about 3 weeks and have driven approx 1400miles with it (2018 silverado 5.3). No discernible decrease in mileage and I did leave it for 4.5 days and truck started just fine. Could do without the leds and it would be nice to know what it is actually doing to the operation of the truck. I do think that it affects the throttle - it feels more touchy and I don't know that it is completely shutting off fuel on decel as it should. Also I did reach out to one of the american manufacturers of a similar product to ask what is better about yours. I would be willing to return this and buy the 3x+ more expensive one if there were reason. Well I never recieved a response from that company so I will be keeping this one. Overall happy with the purchase and will use it 95% of the time going forward.

After an upper engine complete rebuild, installed disabler. So far engine is running great. More power, smoother trans shifts. Will follow up with more details.

Wasn't having any issues with my 2011 Suburban (5.3L). Wanted to get this before had issues.Suburban shows if you are V4 or V8 on the Instant Mileage display. Watched it for two days and has been V8 the entire time. So it's doing what I bought it to do....BUTBox doesn't tell you what the lights the meaning of the lights. Wish they were not there, kinda bright at night. I plan to cover it with electrical tape. Also box says "Do not leave your device installed on a vehicle that is not driven daily. Unlug device if the vehicle will not be driven for a few days. As there may be a draw on the battery in some vehicles.". So once I cover the light with tape I'm sure I'm going to forget it plugged it and come out to a dead battery.Update - went out this morning (Monday) and battery was dead. Two year old Interstate battery. My drive to work is 40 miles each way so plenty of battery charging time. Parked it Friday and this morning battery dead.

It's not a huge difference that I notice, but am going to add a throttle response chip, so am thinking together they will work well. But I do notice the acceleration and the lag is not there anymore, so it does accomplish what is expected. Don't notice better gas mileage, it's a 2010 silverado 5.3 L v8 which is not known to be fuel efficient, so if that's what your looking for, try something else. But Def no m9re lag with acceleration.
