Despite description as a metal housing this is a lightweight plastic-bodied $60 scale. The arm is misaligned and loose front to back and often contacts the sides of the retaining end and causes error. If you are careful to check for this each time it DOES seem accurate. I used it because I had to have one that day but move on to a better model or wait til this one is appropriately priced.

In My Opinion:Have had & used this scale for a good while now... build & materials quality is suboptimal.It's destined for the garbage once a suitable replacement is procured.Review posted 12/14/2017.***

This scale is very accurate even though the quality is average. It does a fine job of weighing in grams. The scale would be fine for a school or individual but does not measure up to professional lab level quality. I had questions about the scale and contacted the company but never got any answer. I later found the same scale under a different brand name. The price is a little much but since it does the job for me I'm satisfied.

I am pretty anal about the accuracy of scales, but this one meets all my expectations. It is accurate to 0.1 gram, excellent for measuring the exact amount of sugar or whatever if you are watching your calories intake. Unlike digital scales where springs might have resistance until that resistance is breached, this three beam balance scale you can just watch it swing up and down until it settles. It's worth every penny.
