I had a johnson rotary level and reciever. The reciever would work intermittent , take batteries out and wait a few hours. I got sick of that. Looked up a replacement reciever, the same exact, and it was 140.00. This one was cheaper and it works flawlessly. It feels more robust. I have a display in both sides. The beep is loud incan hermit over my equipment. Definitely recommend. I hope it outlasts the johnson. Very happy. Now I can get back at it without the wait.

very well packaged, delivered very fast. Worked right off the bat, no problems. Detector is better quality than the original that came with my set. Louder beep and everything about it is far better than what I had to begin with that did not hold up very long. A fantastic replacement and holds up to rough handling and occasional dropping of the stick it is mounted to. It kind of reminds me of the old Timex commercials, it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Great detector, very happy.

Very good value. A rotateing laser is not much good in the daylight without a receiver. This unit works nicely. I returned my Johnson brand receiver after being disappointed in its quality and accuracy. This receiver is better in every aspect. Tougher build quality, better clamp, built in levels, two sided displays, loudness settings, and magnet built in. I would recommend this as it makes using a rotating laser level a very useful tool.

When this laser detector arrived, I put batteries in it and it worked with my DeWalt laser level. I used it to check the grade of my driveway. It was dark at night and it worked 30 feet from the laser level.When I tried to use it in daylight on a job site, it would not work beyond 2 feet. I waited for the sun to set, it worked to 20 feet.I used a pine stick and could see the green laser light 150 feet away, in daylight. The target indicator (not electronic) worked just as well at 150 feet.

It works, but name brand laser eyes pick up the laser better. It’s tough to get a solid beep for your grade compared name brand models. Still gets the job done for a fraction of the price though. You get what you pay for but if you need a cheaper option, this will get you from a-b
