Bought mine for our lab at work. I work at a wastewater facility. So far we've taken videos and pics of the critters that inhabit the wastewater. Stalked ciliates, tardegrades, rotifers. Let's us know how well we are doing. The local college comes through as part of a tour for their biology course. We now can show them the biology. Thank you and love it.

I was skeptical for the price. This is a very nice microscope! I have a more expensive one. This microscope rivals it very closely if not better for some features. The camera and software are great. More than I expected. I could see things maybe 100th the size of a blood cell easily. I need to learn what they are. They are smaller than a blood platelet. They move around. I have yet to explore up to 5000x with this microscope. I don't think I'll be disappointed. I wasn't really expecting it to be as good as it is! I'm very pleased.

When I ordered this Woehrsh trinocular microscope, it was $290. I was only going to give this 3 stars because the price was high for this level scope, and because of areas that need improvement. Since the price has dropped to $230 at the time of my review, I am adding back a star.This scope has a lot going for it, and with a few tweaks this could be a great starter microscope.Things I like:• It came with a lot of helpful accessories for creating your own slides• Nice carrying case• 10 prepared slides so you have something to look at right out of the box• The eyepiece housing swivels 360 degrees• The ability to adjust the interpupillary distance between the eyepieces• Being able to display the image on the computer using the camera• The spring loaded caliper that holds the slide in place and the micro adjusters that allow precise positioning• Coarse and fine stage height controlsAreas for improvement:• No diopter adjustability to account for eyeball focusing differences• The complete lack of useful instructions. The practically useless "manual" shows a range of microscopes, none of which even match this model• There is nothing describing what everything does and which parts go where. No explanation of how to combine the various eyepieces to achieve the available magnifications, and how to use the aperture disc under the stage• The adjustable brightness LED light under the stage does not get very bright - certainly not enough for high magnifications• The software is provided on CD-ROM, and a mini disc at that? It's hard enough to find an optical drive, but many drives can't accommodate 3 inch discs. I'm on a Mac so I used Photo Booth to display the camera images on screen, bypassing the software altogether• The stage does not seem to move low enough to view 3D objects like bugs. Maybe there is a way to do this but with no useable instructions, I don't know howThese limitations could easily be so easily rectified, raising this from kinda "meh" to "WOW"!

My family has been blown away by this trinocular microscope. Setup and use is very easy. The unit itself is quite sturdy and stays in place while replacing the various slides. I love that we can also display the images onto a larger screen making functionality even better. The brightness of the lighting is also great. Having the ability to magnify up to 5000 times is also amazing and much better than standard microscopes. I can see so many uses for this product for many backgrounds, from schools to medical clinics.

Very bad quality images. Blurred and one of the higher zoomed lenses is black and doesn't work. Maybe I just got a bad unit but not impressed.

I bought this for my 12 year old son's birthday because he is very into investigation, research and science. He is also beyond a "play microscope set". He was so excited and has used this to look at so many different things and has opened his imagination and sparked his desire to do more research. So much better than sitting in front of a computer playing games all day.It is all metal and comes in a nice carrying and storage protective case, it comes with a sample set and a kit to take your own samples. There are several lenses on the rotary wheel above the sample that allows you to choose your magnification as you like. It has two lights - one for backlighting the sample and another one to help you properly position the sample in a first place. it is a powerful machine that even has a USB adapter and viewing software included as well as phone adapter. Very solid product, well worth its price.

This is an excellent microscope all-around - it is all metal built, it comes with a sample set and a kit to take your own samples. There are several lenses on the rotary wheel above the sample that allows you to choose your magnification on the fly. It has (2) lights - one for backlighting the sample and another one to help you properly position the sample in a first place. It also has rules and levers that help move the sample around as well as do some basic measurements. Due to its powerful magnification capabilities, this microscope is not very easy to operate at the higher end of magnification range so it may not be the best choice for smaller kids. Otherwise, it is a powerful machine that even has a USB adapter and viewing software included as well as phone adapter. Very solid product, well worth its price.
