I shopped around and thought I would only use the straight hook without the lead. I then started a project that was a blanket and I love the stranded hook. I was worried about the plastic needle but it glides just as easy as the metal one. The value to all of the needles is great.

Let's start with the good, you get a great starter kit at a great price. The aluminum hooks with the stopper are great for the price point.Now the bad. The plastic hooks with the attached cords, yikes! Some hooks aren't very smooth and may snag finer yarns. The cord is stiff and unweildy but the lengths are good for bigger projects. The sizes are really difficult to find toward the connection of the cord. I used a black sharpie to define them. Not all hooks are the same, these are hard to work with but they will get the job done.

All of the hooks I have tried are smooth no burrs.. and the colors are great!. These are perfect for my needs!

These are good and for a low price you can get two full sets, which is amazing. However, just know you are buying a relatively cheap version of the wood hooks, meaning they're not finished with anything, just a raw wood, which gives the hook a rough edge that can catch on softer or higher pill yarns. I use those with my Bernat Maker yarn fine, since it's tubelike, but I stick to the straight metal as much as I can for softer or finer fiber yarns. I'll probably get a better set of the long tailed hooks later on, but since I mostly work with acrylic no-pill yarns right now, they're just fine for my projects. Just use a loose stitch to avoid catching.

The hooks are OK. My biggest issue is that the hooks with the flexible extension attached have no markings indicating what sizes they are. I will have to figure out by comparing with marked ones. Quality is mediocre. You get what you pay for.

the sizes and the lengths are good. the wood was not very well finished but after a quick touch with sandpaper, they are good to go—pretty good variety for the price.

The metal hooks are absolutely brilliant and I use them a lot. The wooden ones are awful, the wool catches because they are coarse and unmanageable. Still good value as I enjoy the metal hooks, wouldn't buy these if you're more interested in the corded hooks however.

Very good selection of crochet hooks, the wooden ones feel a bit rough to start off with, but within a few minutes of using them they smooth out and the wool slides over the hooks easily
