Guys this stuff works but make sure you open it away from your face. Down wind would be best. It had everyone on the boat gagging. Side note stingrays love it..

Was not as great as they stated, did not attract crabs as they stated. Also everyone in the reviews said how stinky they were ours had no smell at all.

Is it as good as fresh/frozen? No. Not even worth comparing. BUT, is it a good product that works? Yes, absolutely.I got it specifically for crab snares, where compact is key, and it does attract both dungeness and red rock crab. Handy packaging can slip into a pocket.Two things... if you add a lump of chicken skin, you'll get a better result. This has the stink, but adding some fat to carry those oils is a big help. Second, it stinks. Not on a nasty, rotting sort of way, but it has a pungent smell, and it will STICK to your hands. Keep that in mind - dry doesn't mean clean.The squid version is more effective than the mackerel, even with some chicken skin. Either is better than chicken alone.
