Compost sometimes produces an unpleasant odor. Instead of fouling your composter with loose carbon particles, Airthereal embeds a carbon filter inside the machine to help capture unpleasant odors from food waste.

WHEN TO REPLACE

Replacing the air filter every 6 months is recommended for optimal use (or according to your air filter status).

It is time to replace the air filter when the following signals appear:

  • Filter Indicator lights up in red;
  • Clogged filter;
  • The presence of heavy odors from the unit.

HOW TO REPLACE

  1. Remove the filter cover from the back of electric composter.
  2. Locate and remove the old filter.
  3. Install the new filters. Note: take off the black sticker before installing the filter.
  4. After replacing the filter cartridge, press and hold the filter reset indicator light for 3 seconds. The red light will go offf, the life of the filter cartridge will reset to zero, and the life of the new filter cartridge will be counted again.

NOTE

• The degradable activated carbon filter can be stored for 6 months in the working environment of the kitchen composter and can be stored for more than 1 year in a normal sealed environment.

• If it will not be used for a long time, please remove the activated carbon filter and keep it sealed.

I’ve replaced the filter twice with no trouble at all. They last quite awhile (I think it’s been at least 6 months), especially since I’ve been composting at least 4-5 times a week. Worth the price on Amazon.

I love my Airthereal composter and use it up to three times a day. The air filter needs replacing about every 6 months. I have learned that it's best to use manufacturers parts, don't try and cheap out and use something else.

I can’t say much about them because I haven’t used them. But I bought them at the same time I bought my compost and the filter that’s in there filters all the bad air out and I smell nothing. They must work really well

Our little Oscar (that's what we call our composter), was getting abnormally stinky. We bought these to try to fix this smelly situation. These work great without issue. While figuring out how to minimize the stink, figured I'd buy some grounded cinnamon spice. Throw in a spoon full into the pale before starting the process helps a lot.
