I found the stock VSV dead and bought a $15 vsv from Amazon. I figured it would open and close and vent to atmosphere, so it should work right? WRONG. The cheap solenoid does not allow enough air to the EGR. This OEM solenoid on the other hand is made specifically for this model and some others. If your Toyota (Aisin) VSV has a horizontal vacuum port and a vertical port and looks exactly like this one, then this is the fix if your solenoid is dead. Extra points for shipping. I needed the part asap and only spent $4 more than rock auto to get the part SAME DAY vs waiting 3-5!

This is the OEM VSV for EGR, so what can you say, it's the best there is. It comes without the bracket, but has the threaded hole on the back of it so you can remove the bracket from your old VSV and install it on this new Aisin VSV. For MUCH easier access, I relocated it to the intake manifold , as you can see circled in yellow in the photo.

This ASIAN brand or named switch is the original one on the Toyota Camry engine, it is the same as the older damaged switch which came with this car the same brand, no Japan written on it, and yes I am the first owner of this car.

I purchased a cheap aftermarket one by mistake. Installed anyway was even worse than original. sent it back and bought this one and it’s perfect.
