I've had heaps of these over the years (maybe half a dozen or more different brands) and this is the best.Mask strap covers are usually something like bumper stickers or t-shirts - you just buy whatever looks good or is free with whatever bigger purchase you just made.On these, the logo is cute and aggro at the same time, so these look great. But then there is the surprise: The 'structural' design is significantly different. They've placed velcro along the full length of one of the long seams, allowing you to open it up like a taco. The traditional two small squares of velcro are still present on the inside to keep the mask strap cover centered on the strap once everything is closed up again. This innovative design means that you no longer have to de-strap your mask to get the mask strap cover on and off the mask. You can take several masks for a try-out and quickly move the mask strap cover from mask to mask. This came in handy for me on a recent vacation, where I threw some spare masks in the bags (some old, some new) for some trials. Even though I took spare mask strap covers, I found myself reaching for this handy Akona design every time - it just saves time and lets you fiddle less with the gear. When I ordered the strap, I was worried that the velcro on the long seam wouldn't be up to the task, but it held fast and was durable in a week of shore entries with small waves and strong surge and currents. So I got back and ordered a few more and gave my others away. The Akona is that good.I plan to take several on my next trip and rotate them so that I'll usually have a dry one to start the day with on the morning sessions and another dry one for the afternoon or evening sessions.A surprisingly big step up for a piece of gear that I usually give little thought to.-

After ordering another strap that was too small for a double strap mask, this was the only one I could find that was big enough. I wanted a strap that would go over the mask strap rather than having to remove the strap on my mask, and this goes on and off easily. That way it can dry in time for the next day's snorkel. Overall, I have no complaints about the strap itself, except that I had trouble with my mask leaking when I wore it. I can't prove that the neoprene strap caused the leaking, but I ended up removing it halfway through the trip.

Bought it to ease the fatigue of the mask straps on my ears, face and reduce mask squeeze... It did all these things, spreading the force of the straps over a larger area allowing me to slacken the mask straps and still get a secure fit with my mask, I spearfish for up to 4-6 hours at a stretch freediving as well as recreational scuba diving with tanks. The cover has velcro tabs in the middle that fixes the cover in place relative to the actual mask straps and prevents sliding of the mask straps inside the cover and bunching up of the straps as well during heavy use... Awesome! After a year of use I am dumping my other straps and buying two more of these for my other masks.

This makes all the difference in the world with keeping your hair back and adding comfort without pulling. It tends to slip but once you get it in the right place, you're good to go. Easy to add to the snorkel mask and helps it to slide on a wet head very well.

Terrific mask strap pad. I have long hair which gets tangle easily in the straps of a mask, and this strap pad does wonders for me. Makes it very easy to put mask on and take it off. It is also wide enough to hold a mask strap that is quite wide. Additionally, the strap pad velcros around the mask strap, making it easy to take the strap pad on/off to rinse it off or let it dry. So good I ordered a second for my backup mask.

I have over 50 dives with this strap protector. I works well by not getting my hair caught in the mask strap when removing or replacing my mask on land or underwater. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the strap is starting to break down and wear out which is surprising because I always thoroughly rinsed after diving. I'd still buy again because it is an affordable accessory compared to others on the market.

This mask held tight to my eyelids and wrecked my eyelashes. I used it for about two nights and that was the end of that. I use the concaved kind now.
