How to Read？
- Pour the liquid to be tested into the test jar, then gently place the hydrometer into the liquid, ensuring it doesn’t get stuck on the side of the jar. Once the hydrometer stabilizes, you’ll notice that the top of the liquid aligns with a mark on the hydrometer’s scale.
- Mark the reading at the point where the liquid intersects the scale on the hydrometer. Due to surface tension, the liquid surface will often curve upwards, forming what is known as a meniscus.
- Always take your reading from the lowest point of this curve to counteract the effects of the liquid’s surface tension, which could affect the accuracy of the reading.
- Additionally, when observing and recording the readings, make sure to view from the side of the test jar at eye level. This ensures accuracy by avoiding parallax errors.
