I use these while skiing so I can listen to music, get feedback from my Carv training Ski coach. I got a helmet that has the insert for these already pre-cut so it was very easy to install. If you watch a YouTube video and follow it highly recommended to watch the video before you install them. It’s so easy to make phone calls from the Lyft and communicate with people. Your sound is pick up clean and clear and you can hear them as well. It’s so much fun to ski with music. You can still hear sound because it’s not noise canceling so I feel safe. The big namebrand it’s over $250 and this was such a good price. Wish I had bought the two pack to give one to my boyfriend.

There is a learning curve. It took me all morning to get used to the controls, but I have spent the last ten years using the Smith Scull Candy set that seems to be discontinued.

These work as they should. A little bulky but wasn’t really an issue once I removed the padding in the ear flaps of my helmet. Connects easily. Giving it 4 stars because some people had trouble hearing me during phone calls. As far as listening to music relatively effortlessly I’d definitely recommend. Didn’t notice any battery life issues.

I had the ODT Chip headphones which worked great in my helmet. I decided to switch to the Aleck headphones due to the COMMs feature and bought my wife and friend a set. I have an Android phone while they have iPhones.COMM barely works. When we all turn on the headsets and open the app at the same time, everything works fine. But the second the iphone's display go off, the comms stop working. My friend did put his iphone in "covert mode" i think its called, which supposedly allows the app to run with the display off. The comms did work for a few more minutes but it ultimately stopped. In order for them to use the Comms, they would to open the app and make sure the display was on. My android however worked about 75% of the time which is better but not close to being reliable.Reason why this thing got a 3 star as opposed to a 1 start is due to the fact that the audio and phone/talk feature acts exactly as my previous ODT chip headset. And the prices are pretty much equal. So if you were looking for a headphones to listen to music, i would recommend these over the ODT Chip as this had the audio features AND half working comms.IF i was looking for a reliable comm system, this would NOT be it.

The quality as a headset is pretty good. Gets loud enough that I never max out the volume, which is more than I can say for some headsets. Fidelity isn’t bad. They stay connected well and don’t drop out. I’ve never had an issue with the battery, and I skied for two days straight without charging, only turning them off at the end of the day.As Comms, they are terrible. Voices are incredibly quiet, however ambient noise is LOUD. It’s like they attempted to filter out noise but instead did exactly the opposite. I can’t hear the other person talking, but I can vividly hear the skis and snowboards scraping on the snow. That’s of course if you can even get them to work. Most of the time literally nothing comes through, even in “Party Mode.”

I've been really impressed with this unit. I had Outdoor Tech Chips prior and the audio with Aleck is so much better. The Aleck 006 app is pretty dang good too. Super intuitive and love that it shows where my friends are on the mountain. I've only tested in a limited setting at my local hill, but the comms are great - I've taken phone calls through them and there's been zero issues. I'm excited to put these to more use this season and making sure that my friends have a set from Santa so I stay in touch and find them at the resort.

Was excited to try this. I have 50+ years of skiing and have used and designed other communication devices. Pros: Works well as bluetooth speaker.Cons: 1.could not update firmware. repeatedly stuck overnight on 3hrs 16 min. Company would not respond to emails for help.2. could only get constant "partyline" comms to function. PTT (push to talk) would never function. since it is voice over internet using your cell phone, constant open communication drains phone battery quickly.3. after making/taking phone call, comms ceased to function.4. button on each ear piece (each side has different functions) require significant force and the sweet spot to push it is hard to find with gloves.Despite trying to work out the kinks on multiple ski days, I succumbed and returned the head sets.

Got these for my son to enjoy listening to music while bombing down the slopes, and got the pair to communicate. So in that respect they worked ok. Music is actually quite loud, not amazing bass, but its like you're skiiing with an 80s gettoblaster on your shoulder :)Communication however was not great. Calls are passable and Aleck side button allows for simple answering. But agree with many other reviews, we found the app's comms modes (be it push to talk or party mode) were completely unusable, you couldnt hear the other party as the app doesnt know when to start recording and send across. Friend finder was pointless as theres many better free tracking apps available. Finally it has to be said the battery didnt last that long for us, nowhere near 10hrs, it was pretty much dead 3/4way through the day, so you need recharge over lunch to make a full days skiing.Still if you want to just enjoy your music and take an occasional call without having to take out your phone, it's more comfy wearing earpods under the helmet :)

Great concept, and I have friends who love these, but for me, they were useless as the app would stay stuck on the loading page. These became nothing more than bluetooth earphones without the walkie talkie option. The sound quality was good, but I returned them.
