Ruby's Lube is an ALL NATURAL lubricating anti-chafe balm, with 5 simple ingredients: olive oil, lemongrass, calendula, beeswax and benzoin. Ancient to skin care, these ingredients ease friction and chafing common to swimmers, cyclists and runners. Ruby's Lube works because the oils prevent friction while the beeswax keeps moisture and sweat away from the skin preventing tissue breakdown.

Ruby's is not only great for athletes but can be used by the entire family for any dry skin condition. Use Ruby's to moisturize dry feet and elbows, soothe a baby's bottom, massage sore muscles or enhance a romantic evening. Recommendations: Start with less, a little goes a long way and enjoy more as needed. Separation is normal in natural products, just squeeze the tube to blend. Use hot soapy water to remove from fabric and body. Apply before exercise or diapering. If you missed a spot and have chafing, apply to chafed area to promote healing. Store at room temperature.

Chris McDonald, a 7 time Ironman winner, and a proud father of 3 children, makes Ruby's in a small artisan workshop in Boulder, Colorado with the love of his life, Erika.

"As an athlete, I love that Ruby's is all-natural, smells great, and above all else works amazingly well. I have competed with this product for 8 years, and I also use it as a diaper rash cream for all our children."

Ruby's comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If this cream disappoints, please let us know and we will make it right. Have questions about how to apply the cream before an Ironman? Simply message us and Chris will be happy to give you some helpful Ironman hacks (did you know that putting Ruby's on your wrist and ankles will help in taking off your wetsuit in record time?).

I had significant problems with chafing whilst I was preparing for the Chicago Marathon. I investigated various recommended anti-chafing products and decided to try this and a couple of other brands out based on recommendations. The ingredient list and history about the product were factors in me choosing Ruby's Lube , as was the fact that it is handmade by Chris and Erika in the US.I have used Ruby's Lube for my runs over 16 miles (2 X 20 mile training runs included) as well as the Chicago Marathon. I have had absolutely no chafing problems whatsoever since using Ruby's Lube. The other products did not work nearly as well for me.The Chicago Marathon was very wet and I have had several reports of people getting blisters as a result of their wet shoes/socks rubbing. I applied Ruby's Lube on my feet too as part of my preparation and had no blisters.I will always use Ruby's Lube as part of my essential running kit from now on. It worked brilliantly for me.I really like the smell but it may not appeal to everyone. It's like lemon balm (which is because it contains lemongrass). The consistency of the body balm is like thick petroleum jelly but thins out with skin warmth so you don't need much to have a protective layer. If warm the body balm does separate a bit when squeezed out of the tube but I just shook the tube and it was fine (or you can just blend in your hand). I am going to try their body balm plus too, which seems more like a wax.

I run 5 - 7 days a week and use this in any hot spots as they crop up. This stuff works great and lasts. It doesn't leave any stain on my clothes, or feel slimy. I just apply it like lotion and it just soaks in and prevents chafing, like magic!

This is lubricant that works. A little bit goes a LONG way. When I started cycling, I was told I needed chamois butter. I picked some up and needed to use heaps of it, and was always reapplying. I'm not sure if it even worked. Then I started using petrolatum and mixing petrolatum with cocoa butter. This was incredibly messy, still needed reapplication, and not at all natural. Then, one day I visited a friend for a training camp and he let me use a little Ruby's. At first I thought, this is such a little tube, and wondered how many uses one would get (considering I had big tubes of stuff that needed constant reapplication)... oh, but did I learn. A tiny little bit applied once worked and did the job for an 80+ mile ride. This stuff is natural and is not as messy as products I've used before. It travels well. They also have little tubes in case of an emergency need. I've often carried a spare tiny tube, but have never needed it (well, except maybe for chapstick...)

About halfway through ironman training, I started searching for replacements for the chamois butter brand I've used for ages. I went with this and HOLY MOLY I LOVE IT. It works so much better than a standard butt'r, you use A LOT less, and it seems like it lasts longer. It is also a lot more multipurpose... i replaced my butt'r, my run guard stick, found that it works fine for swimming, you can even use it as lip balm (though I'm not sure it has SPF), there were times I put it between my toes. I think it smells amazing, but my husband was so-so on the smell. Not only did I use it during workouts, but after showers I would put it on some of the highly chafed areas. I honestly think it helped clear some of it up, pretty quickly I might add.The little tube it comes with will seem like a joke (if you're used to chamois butter like I was) but I took it on multiple long rides and it was fine (and so portable, unlike getting the single serve cardboard chamois butters).Big fan.

I'm a heavy sweater and this product protected my feet and usual chafe-y areas (the underside of my arm where my sleeve rubs, the bottom band of my sports bra) for about 3 hrs max before I needed to reapply it, so I wasn't super-impressed with the durability of the lube for endurance events, but OTOH, it's all-natural, smells nice, and the squeeze tube format makes it easy to apply on feet.So it's quite good, but not at the level of my preferred lube, the sadly no-longer-produced SportSlick, which didn't ever seem to fully disappear from my skin until I washed it off, and included a little antifungal/antibiotic.I recommend Ruby's Lube for shorter-duration events and events with opportunities to stop and reapply it ever few hours.

My grandsons used this with great results. No sand or water rash on the beach! Great product!

As a beginner runner and now more experienced this has been my MVP. When I started, it helped prevent blisters. Years later it has continued to perform. Sweat, rain, and even new shoes - always reduces the chafe and friction.

The product smells great, like lemongrass. It has a thick but smooth and easy to apply consistency. I used it as a chamois butter for cycling. It stayed put and seemed to do a pretty good job maintaining lubrication throughout my workout. The downside is that it caused several very unfortunate ingrown hairs in areas where you don’t want ingrown hairs if you’re a cyclist. I suspect the beeswax component to be the problem. If you’re susceptible to such things this product isn’t for you. Otherwise it worked as advertised. Since switching to an alternate chamois butter the problem has resolved. I liked the product but won’t continue to use it as it isn’t compatible with my skin.
