I have a few issues with this product.1. When screwed onto a 22" bolt it didn't allow enough shaft length to properly seat onto the string. I had to rest the tip on the rail to properly engage.2. After the first shot the rubber tip completely folded inside out. Making point #1 even worse. I was not able to fold the rubber back.3. With the send shot of the rubber being inside out it is now starting to tear apart from yhe arrow tip. I doubt it will last another 3 shots and have stopped using it due to safety concerns.Very poor product, I would advise to spend your money elsewhere.

The Allen Company Titan Crossbow Bolt De-Cocking Head comes at a good price point, making it an accessible option for crossbow enthusiasts. While it offers a practical solution for safely de-cocking your crossbow, it may not provide the long-lasting durability some users are looking for. We found that it didn't hold up to as many uses as initially expected, leading to a bit of disappointment in its longevity. However, for those on a budget or occasional users, it still presents a value proposition by serving its primary function adequately. Ideal for casual use, but heavy-duty users might want to consider their options

This year I de-cocked my crossbow using this about 30 times and it is still in good condition. The first time I shot it I did so from my ladder stand pointing about straight down. It was pretty dark so I am not sure what it hit, but it bounced about 20 or 30 feet past me in the tree! Fortunately, I wasn't hit and saw where it landed. After that, I decided to shoot at the ground about 10 yards in front of me. Beforehand I examined the area closely. I did this about a dozen times and ended up having to look for my arrow the next day a few times. One day after looking for it for 15 minutes, I decided not to shoot it from my stand anymore.I didn't like the thought of lowering my bow while cocked. Although it shouldn't fire without an arrow, handling it while dark, and trying to keep your hand out of the path of the string, is something to avoid. While walking a powerline I found a large divot to shoot into. The arrow sailed back past my head.Next and from that point on, I took the bow home and used a padded type target. This worked perfectly. The arrow only bounced back 10 or 15 feet and was easy to find.In the end, I think next year I am going to try something similar but that has a point, in hopes it will not be as prone to bouncing so far. I'd much rather shoot at the ground from my stand than carry a cocked bow all the way home each time. Not sure it will be any different, however. My bow does have a crank and I did on one occasion use it to de-cock the bow. Yet that technique (in the dark) isn't ideal either. And when I pulled the trigger, although the string only sprang forward a bit, the arrow did sail from the bow about 15 feet.

I have used this several times now and it seems to work great. I fire it into a bale of pine shavings and it stops it within a couple of inches with no damage to the head.
