Alpine Swiss Mens Expandable Leather Attache Briefcase Dual Combination Locks

This is a good, full size briefcase, 13" X 18" inside, with expandable thickness. It is attractive and generally well made. It is similar to others I have owned that lasted 3 years or more of daily use. It is covered in what looks like a good quality synthetic leather, firmly glued at all the edges so that it doesn't seem as if it will peel away any time soon. The weak point on every one of these I have owned is the latches, which are zinc die cast and eventually will break. If there is some porosity defect that wouldn't show on the surface one of the latches will break within the warranty period and I could get a replacement. If not, it will last many years. So far so good.

Real person, very nice briefcase, functions as expected, haven’t used heavily but the material all came nice, no imperfections that I noticed, material doesn’t seem the most durable as in it’ll show use if you use it often I would say it would take about 2 years to look used if used regularly but the way I use it it’ll probably show use in like 5 years or more seems like it’ll last long enough for most people, no complaints, as expected, works great for me

Received the case, and one of the locks was already changed from the 000 default to 965, which took me quite a while to figure out. Other than that frustration, it's a pretty secure and clean case.

The briefcase arrived quickly and was just as described. It has a beautiful leather exterior, durable locks, the ability to expand the file pockets and the bottom portion of the case. I also love the one year warranty reminder about manufacturer defects. My husband loved it, and I loved the quality product for a VERY reasonable price. When he wears this one out, I will look for another Alpine Swiss attache case. Great buy!UPDATE: One year and three months later of daily use (and my husband is very hard on his briefcases- he is a general contractor and just tosses it in the truck), this briefcase is still holding strong. The outer edges have worn a little, but you don't notice it unless you are looking closely. The interior still looks great. The hinges and latches are very durable. Considering he has worn out briefcases SEVERAL TIMES in only a matter of a few months before, it's a testament to the durability of this briefcase that it has held up over a year now with tough, daily use.

This was a gift for my Husband HE LOVES IT ! He usually will wear a brief cass out about ever 1-2 years so maybe this 1 will be better and last longer ? Time will tell ! But so far happy with the case lots of room with extra pockets !

Works as expected

Intentions are to use this case as my laptop transportation system. I’m calling it my mobile office. Before I get into the following details, know that this is my first Attaché. These are my observations about what’s in front of me, but I have nothing to compare to.Shipping: The item shipped incredibly quickly, and per shipping information, was scheduled to arrive ahead of schedule. The item was actually delivered to me a week late. I do not believe the seller to be at fault for this, but the shipping company.Leather Exterior: Nothing about this makes me think a single cow, sheep, or mammal was injured in the making of this product. The outside feels like a PU texture of paint over a thin layer of cotton-ball textured fabric. It is incredibly soft. This will not wear like leather. It’s more likely to peel like paint. The references to leather are, at minimum, misleading.Leather Interior Components: The internal components feel as if they are light plastic and cardboard painted with the same PU texture. None of the “Leather” components feel, smell, or taste of glorious hide.Metal Hardware: The metal hardware is cheaper than expected. The wheels with digits are loose fitting and wobble. They stick when turning, and it’s difficult to use them for their function of putting in a code. The sliders to the side of the number wheels are also loose fitting. The parts, such as these, that move do not feel as though they’re going to have a long life, especially if you choose to use them. The stationary metal hardware is solid. The buttons feel like a very thing, cheap tin, although they function adequately. The latches are pretty rickety. There’s a lot of manual alignment needed to get them to latch. The locking hinges on the side are pretty thin and unstable. They do lock sufficiently to hold open the case when expected.Expandability: I had not read the description of the item I purchased, and was unaware that this was an expandable brief case. That was a pleasant surprise. The expandability of the product is one of the (relatively) higher quality features on the product. The little gap that’s created when you expand it is barely noticeable, but if you look at it, the glare makes it obvious that it’s a plastic or vinyl cloth. The straps that prevent the expansion when not in use are very thin and cheap.Usability: Space is very tight. I was unable to close the case with both the book and laptop (See photo) until I expanded it. The small pockets at front are near unusable due to how tight they are. I’ll have to see if those loosen up without breaking over time.Fabric: I’m content with the blue fabric. It’s very soft and lightly padded behind. I’m not concerned with scratching my electronics.Handle: The handle feels very solid.Overall, I’m not impressed at all. A lot of people would say “As expected for the price”, but I can’t even do that. It’s a cheap brief case that probably shouldn’t cost what it does. I’d call it stage jewelry that looks fine, as long as you keep it at a distance.
