Scrub-sanded some scrap wood to reveal a funky pattern, epoxy-coated the surface, and installed this inexpensive router plate. Fits my cheap trim router/base perfectly (basically the same Makita clone that’s sold all over Amazon). The included hardware made this a simple project, and it’s working great!Tip: When routing out the area for the plate itself, don’t be afraid to go a little deeper if needed. Then use a few washers on the 4 screws to perfectly level the plate into the table itself.

The product looks sturdy, but the labeling is definitely misleading as it does not fit at a Walt trim router or a cheap craftsman trim router. I’m going to have to bring it to the store with me and pick up another cheap trim router to see what it actually fits. This intended purpose for me at least was to build a small router table and that will handle my little trim, router and this aluminum insert would’ve been perfect for it however, it might not be cost-effective if I have to actually go out and purchase another router to make it fit besides the two that I already have and I use exclusively small trim routers
