I am building a train layout for my grandchildren and this product is great. It's much cheaper than plaster and I think much easier to work with. It dries quite fast and can be sculpted and added on to. One box will build a lot of mountans!

I use Sculptamold in building scenery for my model railroad. Buying it in small bags in your local craft store is very expensive, so I decided to try buying it in bulk. I had used Sculptamold before, but I must admit that I was surprised by how much product was in the package I received. The Sculptamold arrived in just a few days securely packaged in a heavy duty plastic bag inside a sturdy box. I purchased a two gallon container at my local home improvement store so that I would have a more convenient place to store the Sculptamold. 25 pounds not only filled up the container, but I still have several several pounds left over. I think this amount of Sculptamold will come close to finishing my layout. If you have never used white Sculptamold before, it is easy to mix & use, and easy to sculpt into shapes or to cast images from molds. It accepts paint readily, as well as the many glues and color washes that are used in model railroad building. I am really glad I decided to purchase Sculptamold in quantity. It is exactly what I needed.

Interesting material. Sets up quickly. I will use this pulpy textured material to reinforce wire/foil armatures prior to applying a smoother consistency air dry clay surface to the outside.

I used Sculptamold over pink extruded foam to create mountains and other terrain features. It is easy to use and the results are amazing. Add some brown tempera paint for color so it doesn't show bright white if chipped. It is light weight, strong and easy to work.

This is the second 25 # box we have purchased - we use for our n scale train layout - have sculpted multiple hills and backdrops with this - we are now working on our third layout. We made the first as a gift for friends(30x48). Our second {48x96) was just disassembled as we built a hobby shed so we now have a 12' x 20' area to expand - we are doing 3 levels so will have lots of room to design.Sculptamold takes a while to dry - larger areas built on foam insulation backing may take 3 or 4 days to dry completely. Allow for this and it is a great way to build.

I use a lot of this stuff. The 25 lb bag is a little awkward to handle, but it's nice to be able to get it in this large a quantity. Much cheaper than buying a lot of small bags.
