I purchased this tape dispenser because it appeared sleek and I wanted my desk to look good and be functional. I was not disappointed. The dispenser was just as pictured and is a great addition to my crowded desk.

This is a nice looking holder, and I do have several other acrylic pieces, so it goes nicely in my work area. However, I am somewhat disappointed in this item for the price. Some reviewers say that the item is heavy enough so it does not slide when using; this wasn't my experience. I have the dispenser on a wooden top credenza side desk, so, it's not a surface which would be especially slippery. It's also smaller once in hand as opposed to the online pictures, which isn't a problem for me, my desk is on the smaller side, so it's actually a plus... just a note for others. I'll probably end up keeping the item. I'm online now, searching for a pack of the silicone "feet" to help keep the dispenser in place, which hopefully, will improve the stability. Overall, I think the item should be more weighted, (even my regular Scotch brand tape dispenser is weightier than this piece.. & it was much cheaper!!) I also think that the item should come with the silicone slip resistant pads on the bottom. Good quality items already have these very helpful pads on them, which greatly improves stability. Instead, now I have to purchase those as well. It's hard for me to endorse this item at the current price point. At $10.00-$10.99, I'd say it's a buy... at $17.00, it's overpriced and missing a key quality feature.

I really like the way this dispenser looks and it won't break and spill sand everywhere like my old one did. You may need to both hands to use it because it tends to tip forward when you pull on the tape. It could really use some no-slip grippers on the bottom because it slides very easily across a smooth surface. Its compact size doesn't take up much space which is a plus. I would probably buy it again but I'm not 100% on that just yet.
