This rod just fits. If window was any wider it would not work.

I was surprised how loose the two expandable curtain rod sections were but once the curtains were attached there’s no problem at all. I really like the feel of the rods. They are very sturdy and the white part feels like enamel and the ends are very nicely made. I recommend them highly!

Make sure you measure carefully where it is to be installed. The dimensions given will not work if you have moldings around your window panels. Mine went straight to the garbage as it is useless to me.

Tension rods tend to push into the window frame after a period of time and damage the drywall when they're tight enough. When they're not tight enough, they tend to fall down and need to be put back up. I like these as an alternative. There is a small bracket that installs at each side of the window frame and the rod slides to fit the brackets. It's a really simple design but feels a lot better than tension rods always have. The rods are tiny, not much bigger than 3/8" around but they are strong enough to hold shears without issue. I wouldn't hang velvet drapes from them but I wouldn't do that from tension rods, either. If you are a renter and worry about holes in the window frames, the screws are not all that large and the holes can be spackled and will probably not be noticed. They aren't fancy but they are a new staple for me.
