The Ambient Weather WH31P is a probe thermometer, with RF 915 MHz wireless range of 300 feet (100 meters) line of sight (100 feet under most conditions). The IPX4 water resistant sensor features a 10-foot water proof probe, ideal for measuring any wet temperature medium, including water, pool, spa, soil, refrigerators and freezers. Temperature displays in °F or °C.

The WH31P can be used indoor and outdoor, but if used outdoor, it needs to be protected. Although the sensor is weatherproof, it is best to mount in a well-protected area, such as an eve, or in an enclosure like the Ambient Weather WH31-SRS Solar Radiation Shield.

This sensor is not intended for stand alone use, but integrates with most of our weather stations. Add up to 8 probe thermometers to your Ambient Weather Station.

It was a little awkward to set up at first with the ambient weather station monitor as the instructions were quite dark and difficult to read, I ended up downloading the manual online, one it was connected the WiFi worked great from the pool to the house the temperature was accurate as we have a thermometer in the pool as well, it’s just a little difficult to get to it, but both had the same reading and the reading was easy to follow on the monitor too. The device was quite sturdy and stood up to high temperatures and all was good until we forgot to take out the probe one day and our robot ate it and dragged the device into the pool too. RIP in peace monitor! We bought the floating one now!

Adding this device to my WS-5000 was pretty easy and, compared to getting a stand-alone wireless thermometer, it was very affordable. I don't have any way of telling how accurate it is, but I simply adjusted it to the same temp as the built-in pool thermometer (via the display console), and I'm quite happy with that. The adjustment I made applies to the central display and the web page display and not the read-out on the device itself, but I rarely look at the device itself. I used a different thermometer in an attempt to measure this one, and it was the same so I have to assume they are all pretty close to being accurate. I attached the waterproof probe to the side of the pool with waterproof tape and it all works quite well. Recommended.

Purchased a new Ambient Weather WH31P sensor for my pool to replace another WH31P sensor that was damaged when inserting it in the WH31-SRS Solar Shield I purchased to protect the WH31P from the rain and direct sunlight.Sensor works great except in addition to showing the water temperature in the Ambient Weather app on my phone, it is also showing a 'Humidity' level, the 'Dew Point', and 'Feels Like' readings, which it isn't supposed to display.I emailed Ambient Weather support on 2/20/24 to find out how to get rid of the other readings, but the only thing I've gotten back from Ambient was the ticket number (101794) they opened. I like the Ambient Weather products I have, but their support for their product is lacking if you need help.

I own a couple of these for remotely monitoring temp and humidity in the garage and another outbuilding on property. The sensors rotate display on my Ambient WS-5000 display so I can adjust temps in either location based on actual temp/humidity. You can add up to 8 of these sensors to the console. Inexpensive and accurate enough for my remote monitoring needs.

This is junk. We bought this in June 2023. This was used in our pool. The probe was in the water and the unit was in a waterproof enclosure on our deck. It was kept indoors when the temperature outside was consistently below 60F. It was always a couple of degrees on the cool side but that was ok.This spring, it went back to it's home in the pool. After trying to figure out for, an embarrassing long time, why our pool was not warming up, I decided to make sure this temp probe was correct.Yeah, it's off. 15F lower than ambient. It's currently reading 59.2F on my desk. It is 75F in here. I would warranty it but I don't want more junk. I'll take my loss and find something that works.

Easy to setup and sync to my WS5000 receiver, instructions are concise and easy to follow. Use to measure pool water temp. Set dip switch to required units and channel number, insert batteries and the receiver immediately registered it's readout.

Two bad ones out of three. Ether they don't transmit well or the readings change little.
