This lamp is worth every penny! Its design is beautiful and perfectly complements the minimalist or Japandi style of my home. This is my second lamp that has a magnetic remote and lots of different brightness and temperature settings. First of all, the remote DOES work but you have to turn the light ON with the foot switch FIRST. Second, and more importantly, all the "magic" functions are part of the BULB, not the light socket. I confirmed this by switching in an ordinary, "dumb" bulb. The lamp still worked, but the remote did not and none of the color or brightness settings worked. I also discovered that you can buy bulbs with the EXACT SAME remote and, presumably change any light you already own into one that has the brightness and color settings. Just do a search for "light bulb controlled by remote" and look for bulbs with the same looking remote. Interestingly, the two remotes I have look almost the same, however, they DO NOT operate each other's light bulbs. So... conclusion.... the lamp itself is nice enough. The base is VERY HEAVY and not going anywhere no matter how much my cat may try. The lamp has a nice swivel head and is a good height for a reading or work lamp. It seems solidly made and looks good. Even the shade (which is rolled up and you have to put it together) looks a lot nicer than other, similar shades. As to the bulb... I never knew these were such a thing and, now that I do, I'm thinking of other places I could put them. The remote is MAGNETIC and you don't know how wonderful that is until you've used it (and NOT lost it) a few times). The choices of color temperature and brightness are easy to control and I do, really, love those features. Just be aware that lamp and bulb, are, essentially, two separate things and the remote works the BULB, not the lamp

Pretty, but the remote doesn’t work. Plugged in with the bulb it came with and nothing. Tried different batteries for the remote but still nothing. Put in another working dimmable bulb, and it worked but cannot control dim because remote did nothing. Ended up putting in a smart bulb and will control with Alexa.

I'm very pleased with this lamp. It is nice looking, included clearly written instructions and was easy to put together. I set it up in the master bedroom & especially like the remote control feature it has. I like to read for a while when I go to bed and tend to fall asleep while reading. I am able to set the timer using the remote & the light will shut itself off automatically in one hour. That way I do not have to get up and shut it off myself in the middle of the night!

I searched at all the local furniture and box stores for the perfect Arc Lamp! This was the one! Love the remote, easy to assemble and great value for the price!

Very nice lamp with multiple light settings, a floor step-on off/on control, and a remote control. Caught it on sale for a good price. Base is heavy as well as the supporting pole. Would definitely buy again. I recommend it.
