I got the Ameda electric pump through insurance when my daughter was born and it was fine before I went back to work but just more trouble than it was worth once I was pumping 2+ times a day (I won't get into the reasoning here) but a hand pump had been included in the kit and it worked great! After several months of use, however, the connections were becoming loose and while it still worked, it was increasingly fragile and fell apart while trying to attach it to the flange. I didn't want to be carting it back and forth to work every day anymore so I ordered this pump. It's so great having an extra one, and I am being more gentile with this one so it lasts longer than the first one. Having the extra bottle and breast flange has also been wonderful giving me a better rotation between washings.

I ordered this after trying to Haakaa milk catcher (which was unsuccessful). This, combined with tbe correct flange size (I previously had the 22.5 mm) made me vert happy. I was looking for something that is both easy to travel with and easy to use. This is perfect, no outlet needed. I can see being able to use this on a car ride or discreetly when out in public if needed. I'm actually planning on buying a 2nd one since it wad discontinued. You do have to squeeze it which can get tiring but I just pace myself. And I have small hands, and was able to use it comfortably.

I ordered this manual breastpump for an upcoming vacation. I did a test run with the pump before leaving and not only was my hand exhausted after using it, I also barely got any milk out, about half an ounce. I just figured that since I had been spoiled by my electic pump for 4 months that I just needed to practice using the manual more and that evenutally I would get the hang of it. Well sadly, this never happened. I used my pump several times over vacation and still was unable to get any milk out, I even tried waiting until my breasts were really full to use it! I eventually gave up trying on this pump and I'm looking into returning it. Very disappointed in my first Ameda purchase =(

I even get more from this pump than my double electric Purely Yours. Of course its manual so more effort. I've broken 3 of this in 6 months exclusively pumping so I would appreciate if it's sturdier. I think I use this 40% of the time, my electric pump 60%. All in all, I like it and keep ordering so I'd have a spare.

I love this product! I have the Ameda Purely Yours, and I wondered if this would be as efficient. I can actually get more milk faster with this hand pump! It's definitely more convenient in the middle of the night pumping(if Dad gives a bottle or baby only wants to eat on one side) or for outings when I need to quickly pump. I also like how the handle swivels so you can find a comfortable position. I never felt I needed a manual pump when I have the electric, but now I recommend to everyone that you get both!

I got this in the hospital from the lactation consultant. It does get milk out pretty good if you're able to keep up with the squeezing which really hurts your hand and wrist. Not just that but the green part twists around the base while your pumping and you have to keep adjusting it so your hand doesn't hurt worse. (The bottle itself stays on tight so you don't have to worry about wasting milk but the green handle moves around the base pretty freely)

While this pump removes the milk, it is exhausting for my hand to use! If I am really full, I can quickly collect the first letdown. Pumping further to make sure I empty is exhausting as the pump is difficult to squeeze over and over. Its squeaky and not ergonomically friendly.

I've never been a fan of manual pumps...or pumps in general but I had to pump and wanted something small and discreet to travel with. I loved this pump! This pump is super strong! I did have some confusion about how to put it together initially. But after I figured it out, it was smooth sailing. I could easily pump 4 oz in a few minutes (this is my 3rd baby). I highly recommend!

Arrived very fast but box was broken and squished. Did not affect actual product though.

Cheap and flimsy. Use it once. Waste of money.
