If you want a high quality, made in the USA, low cost tool, this is the one! I'm sure you can find some Chinese crap for half the price, but I prefer made in the good old US of A if I can find it.

I wish I could split my review. As far as the intrinsic quality of the come-along, it seems well made and sturdy and it works just exactly how it should once you get it to work at all. I would have given it a four. But it came with the spring retainer/cable retainer on the cable spool that was so tight that the spool would not turn and release the cable. I had to disassemble it to unwind the cable and then reassemble it to be able to use it. It seems to me that would be a very simple problem to solve by using retainer spring that did not press so tightly against the spool. So for that, I deducted two stars.

As described. At first was difficult to unwind but was able to get it done. Worked fine afterwards. Bought because made on USA.

Used it to pull some heavy logs. The handle started to bend to one side and look like it was going to snap. The cable and the casing held up well, but the handle is quite filmsey.
