We bought this for our mom who wanted a globe. She loves that it lights up and she can see everything better. Totally worth the money. The only issue is the button to turn on the globe. You have to flip it over to locate it; other than that, it’s worth the money.

This globe is good size with easy to read lettering. The light feature puts off a pretty glow and helps older eyes easily see details. Very sturdy, well-made.

Like the optional light inside. Nice bright colors but noticed some spelling errors on the map. Love the size and the wooden stand is nice and sturdy.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best at judging the luminosity of an object based on its marketing materials. But the thought of a softly glowing globe of planet Earth in my home brought a certain cheerfulness to my mind.Two things to know about this globe if you are thinking of purchasing your own. First, it's extremely bright. It's a lamp. It could be an educational light fixture on the desk or shelf of someone with a lot of potential. Second, and this is kind of a downer, but the the locations marked by text on this globe are someone sparse. You'll get maybe one or two cities in a country, before all of a sudden you are off to the next country. It's a similar situation with states.But if you like globes, or lamps, or planets or orbs or maps, or if you just like to know where stuff is, you could do far worse than this globe.I give it five stars as a lamp globe for children. That's why you should buy this. As far as it's suitability as an adult globe, it would be three stars at best.Thanks for talking, but my other friends are here now. So I should go.

Gift for 4 year-old granddaughter. I like the traditional blue ocean and colorful continents which light up so brightly and attract my granddaughter’s interest which is great for introducing her to concept of world geography. After having it for these last few months, she can point to area where she lives, the nearest ocean and all seven continents. A great teaching/learning tool.

I've wanted one of these light-up globes for decades! Even though they seem to be geared toward children, I bought this one for my old self anyway and I'm delighted with it! Easy to read place names, beautiful colors, and it is very interesting to peruse and compare the relationship of places on a globe vs. a flat map. More place names would be great, but in that round format and size, it can't be easy to squeeze in a lot of names, and though some are misspelled, that's not interfering with my enjoyment. Good quality item, charges up quickly. Very happy!
