Although the device comes with a stereo (TRS) 1/8" cable, the audio jack on the device is wired as mono (TS), which means that if you hook this into a recorder, one of the channels will have a constant buzzing noise because it's hooked to ground. The actual phone audio will be on the other channel, and the noise floor isn't great, so you'll likely have to use a notch filter to remove some power line frequencies (and their harmonics). You're probably better off getting a device with output jacks designed for a tape recorder (there are a fair number of new old stock ones out there), or if you plan on recording a lot of calls, one of the higher-end digital devices.

This is one of those items that either works or it doesn't. It works. Full-stop.I do freelance newspaper reporting, and it's incredibly valuable to save myself the trouble of scribbling or typing notes while having a conversation. Also, whenever a company says, "This phone call may be monitored..." that means they're giving *you* permission to record it.IMPORTANT: About 38 states allow you to record someone without informing them; a dozen require "two-party notification." Before you record someone without telling them, check with recordinglaw.com to see if it's allowed.

Cool little phone jack adapter for recording calls with an external recorder. Sometimes I participate in Xoom video conferencing meetings by calling in on my home phone. Have a nice hands-free office speaker phone I enjoy using. Now I can covertly record the entire Xoom session on my mini voice activated recorder. Only need connect a 3.5mm cord to the audio out port on the telephone jack and audio input port of my recorder.Normally you're not able to record Xoom meetings on the app without the host’s permission. Now I'm able to keep notes on informative product demonstrations, Church service, and state chapter meetings I’m involved in thanks to this ingenius telephone line adapter.Sound comes through crisp and clear on the recording. Use a product called Total Recorder to manually edit the completed audio file on my Windows 11 PC. I add chapters, remove excess silence, and improve quality by increasing the bass etc.Nice little hack to easily record phone calls.

Great to use when you are taking down directions or instructions . Connect's to your desk phone easy. Then plug it into your pocket recorder. And take the directions or instructions to the job. Better than writing it down.

This device plugs into a different place on the phone than my previous one. Once I figured that out, it works ok. Not the greatest quality recording (slight distortion), but ok. It'll do.
