When I bought a house with a 40 year old window I wasn't sure if replacement parts were available. Not only was it available it was affordable, factory quality, and easily replaced. The color matches the existing color well.

The spline design on this part works perfectly for my 1980 Anderson window. I purchased a product that "fits most Anderson casement windows" from the local big box store. It looks identical --- same material, paint and color, riveted handle construction, quality, etc. It costs approximately half of what the "Anderson" part costs. Unfortunately, the spline design is slightly different (12 vs 11 splines), and therefore, it doesn't fit my window. It may fit Anderson windows before or after the stated dates (i.e., 1974 to 1995), but that didn't help me! In summary, the part fits perfect but it costs twice as much as an almost identical product that fits "most Anderson windows".

I first tried the knock-off handles at half-price, but they were not made correctly to fit an Anderson casement window crank. This handle is twice the price but works correctly.

At first I didn't think this was as simple to install as it was. You just slide it on and tighten the screw. I have purchased the more expensive ones and the cheaper ones and they seem to work the same. On a house purchased, a few were missing and some were rusted and could not tighten the screw or get it off but used WD40, let it just set for a day or so, then worked fine. These definitely stick out a little if you have blinds.

It fits and tightens as it should. I ordered these and cheaper versions - these are much better for daily use.

As you can see from the old handle on the left the common weak point would be the splines inside. I believe the new one has a slightly smaller inner diameter which helps it fit snuggly, compared to the original, and would help to reduce this from reoccurring. One of the other items I was concerned with was the color match between the new handle and the crank housing. This is something that is difficult to confirm through photos and since the housing is usually in direct sunlight the paint may fade over the years. In my case the housing was from 95’ and I can say that the color match was good and not a noticeable difference. Good quality and reasonable price. Overall I give it 5 stars. Slightly pricier than I would have liked but if it proves to be a more reliable construction I understand.

I was so glad to find this casement window handle on Amazon. It fit our windows perfectly, is easy to use, matches the others I have perfectly and looks very sturdy. I plan on buying lots more ASAP!

So great to get a replacement handle from Amazon. Great price and the fact that it is Anderson.
