Disregard what another review stated about this not displaying MPH. It does!! The manual was very poorly written and there are several mistakes. One of them was referred to in another post where it's pointed out that "mil/h" stands for "Nautical" Miles per hour. Yes, the manual states this, but it's wrong. There is already a "Knots" unit - which is the same thing. The mil/h unit IS actually Miles Per Hour, as you'd expect. I tested all the unit functions, and they're all quite accurate. I drove with my car on cruise control at 60 mph, stuck this out my window, and the reading said ~60 +/- ~2mph. The readings are all there and accurate. In addition, the manual INCORRECTLY states that CFM (airflow) means Cubic Meters per Minute. WRONG - It is tested and verified to actually be Cubic FEET per minute (not Meters). So, do NOT believe the manual. This anemometer works very well for all expected, common measurements despite the manual spewing some nonsense.

This handheld wind speed meter is a versatile and practical tool for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors. Whether you’re flying a kite, climbing a mountain, fishing, or sailing, this device can provide valuable information about the wind conditions. The ability to measure not only wind speed but also air flow volume is a very handy feature. This makes it a useful tool for a variety of applications, from recreational activities to professional tasks. The device comes with a backlight, making it easy to read the measurements even in low-light conditions. This is particularly useful if you’re out and about in the early morning or late evening. However, one potential downside is that the device might be a bit complex for beginners to use. It might take some time to get used to the controls and understand how to interpret the measurements effectively.

This anemometer is really cool. It worked right out of the box, and the 9V battery was even included, as well as a little carrying case. I build several DIY projects as a hobbyist, and often they involve airflow. Until now, I’ve had no way to measure the air flow rates. It comes with a carrying case, and is pretty intuitive to use without reading the instructions. The only thing I needed to read the manual for was the function button, to switch between air speed and air volume (which needs you to set the area unit to calculate volume). The only unit it doesn’t have, that would be nice, is miles/hour. Instead, it has knots (and you just need to know that 1 knot = 1.15 miles/hour). However, I tend to use meters/second, so this isn’t a big deal to me. It also has a backlight so you can see in a dim environment.Of course, I don’t have any way to really test the exact accuracy, but the advertised accuracy is plus/minus 2%. However, for comparison measurements, it’s very nice, and I can see airflow changes in real time in my projects. This was a great addition to my tool kit, and I definitely would recommend it if you need one. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a rechargeable battery, for convenience. The manual says that it does draw some current (5 uA) while turned off, so the battery should be removed if stored for long periods. But at such low current, it would actually take over 12 years to drain a typical 9V battery this way, so I think you’re probably ok leaving it in!Final Rating: 5 Stars. This is a fun an useful gadget if you work with airflow.

First, the misprint in the manual is that it states that Mill/H is nautical miles per hour, but it is not. Mill/h is miles per hour, Knot is nautical miles per hour, and it measures both (as clarified on their website and by looking at the testing limits of the two measurements corresponding to the adjusted numbers for the units being used. I have used AMTAST products before and they have proven to be very accurate, therefore I imagine this is as well but have nothing I can use to test against it so I have to take that part on faith.I got this mostly to test the airflow from fans and AC units and as such it does an excellent job (granted I got this to test for free but even if I'd have been paying the price point would not be bad considering that some anemometers go for between 5 and 10++ times the price (based on accuracy and how high or low it measures).I would recommend this product if you want something low cost with +/- 2% accuracy and do not need to measure wind speeds over 67 mph.

I got this because the listing said this anemometer could display the wind speed units in mile/h miles per hour.It does not. It displays the speed in nautical miles per hour.... mil/hIt works and is a nice unit. But if any one is thinking this gives the speed unit in mph, it doesn't.If you need to know how fast the wind is blowing in mph you'll have to take the mil/h reading and use a formula. So take the number on the readout and multiply it by 1.15078 to convert mil/h to mph.Example. If it says the wind speed is 10 mil/h, take 10 mil/h * 1.15078=11.5078mph.

Got this primarily for my friend and I when we go flying our drones, as it kind of makes a difference and is helpful in that aspect. Also nice for kite flying as well. Likely will play with it for more recreational stuff over time as, it is a special use item.Simple design, doesn't require a lot of wind to measure, even did it with my fan on just for giggles and yep, definitely can tell me how much air is moving.Comes with a handy case, and now packed with my drone gear.
