This is an inexpensive meter that does all it is advertised to do, and does it accurately. We live 'off the grid' and this works equally well with both wet lead acid batteries and LiFePo4 batteries. Now the leads are a little thin, and the case feels thin as well; otherwise I'd have given it five stars. I liked them so well I bought more of them them for son-in-law stocking stuffers. Recommend.

It is true that the ANENG Car 12V Battery Tester is very basic and does not test the battery under load It is , however, still useful. What the ANENG essentially does is to convert voltage readings into FULL/MEDIUM/LOW/DEAD indicators. Typical voltage levels that may indicate FULL: 12.6 to 12.8V, MEDIUM :12.2 to 12.5V, LOW: 11.9 to 12.1, EMPTY: 11.8 to 11.9V. So if you were just using a voltmeter you'd have to look up what the obtained reading means. The ANENG saves you that chore.

I does not have any fancy way of testing the actual health. As it is it's really not any better than an any voltmeter.

This is a very basic tester - for the price, it's about what I'd expect. But I tested on a battery that is worn out but fully charged, and it showed it as healthy. It doesn't do load testing or check CCA - it seems to basically just check voltage.
