I needed another digital multimeter as a spare. I went with this, the cheapest, 4+ star unit I could find. My expectation was it would be OK at least for measuring voltage. It's more than OK. It's almost as good as one costing over twice the cost. I'm considering getting another. Disclaimer: I haven't used all of its features yet, but the ones I've used worked with good accuracy.

Had to replace my last dropped multimeter. Once my old one hit the floor for the 300th time in 9 years, it stopped working.This was not an expensive way to go and since I have an aptitude in dropping electronics, this was the perfect way to go.

I was looking for an inexpensive multi-meter, and I certainly got that.. It does what it's supposed to do, and seems accurate for the few things I've tested it on, so far..I do like that it has a softer plastic "surround" that offers some protection if it gets knocked around, although ~that~ is the case that is mentioned in the title of the description..I was expecting something a bit different for a case though, tbh...I also like that on the Continuity setting, you get both a beep noise (actually loud enough to hear) AND a red light illuminates.. Very easy to immediately see and hear when you have a good circuit..As others have mentioned, the molded-in probe mounts are a bit distorted, so it takes a moment of work to seat the probes.. They're adequate, but not great...THE one thing I'm really disappointed in (aside from no case) is......there is NO BACKLIGHT for the LCD screen on this unit... That's pretty standard nowadays, or so I thought, but that is kindof an annoyance when you're using this in a not well-lit situation.... And sooner or later, you will...So just a disappointment in this meter, for that.... Had I realized that before my purchase, I would have bought something else..That said, it works, and does a good job, so I will certainly use it... Took one star off for the lack of backlight..

I bought this because I had been given a gift certificate, and had a few dollars left to spend.For what it is, it performs well. I checked it against my Fluke 87V, for comparison. You remove the rubber cover and one screw on the bail to install the two AA batteries. Voltage with a 9v battery showed 8.52 on the Fluke, and 8.54 on the Aneng SZ301. A 20 mv difference is very respectable. A 220 Ohm resistor showed 224 on the Fluke, and 223 for the Aneng. A 500 uF capacitor read 511 uF on the Fluke, while on the SZ301 it was 514 uF. A current test showed similar results. The load simulator test puts approximately a 10 mA load on the battery, which was appropriate and accurate. For what it is, it's fine. My main worry would be how long the selector switch lasts, and the jacks/sockets for durability. I would recommend if you want them to last don't remove them unless you have to. This is a good meter if you're on a trip, and don't want to take your expensive meter with you. It doesn't have autorange, but that's really no big deal at this price point. It's very lightweight, and the probe wires are thin gauge, thinner than Fluke leads. It does the job if you're in a pinch, but for how long? I gave it five stars for its features, which are very helpful. The display was easy to read.

It is easy to use and a good value. While reading the directions, it showed how to turn on and off the backlight display. It was not working as it does not have a backlight display. I would review the directions.

PROBABLY THE BEST OFF SHORE MULTIMETER I HAVE OWNED. A LITTLE HARD TO GET THE BATTERY COVER BACK ON, SO BUY THE BEST EXTRA LONG LIFE AA CELLS (2) YOU CAN FIND AND THROW AWAY THE OFF SHORE BATTERIES SUPPLIED. YOU WILL ALSO EED A 0 OR 00 PHILLIPS DRIVER TO UNSCREW THE BATTERY COVER.

Das Messzubehör ist hochwertig und vielseitig einsetzbar. Das Multimeter entspricht in der Verarbeitung dem günstigen Preis, zeigt jedoch gelegentlich unplausible Messergebnisse. Für einfache Anwendungen ist es dennoch ausreichend.
