Good buy compared to local stores. Installation was simple, as long as you read and understand the directions, e.g. It comes from the factory with the breaker tripped, and it won't reset until after it has power to it.

As a DIY enthusiast, I recently upgraded my outlets with the ANKO 20 Amp GFCI Outlet, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I installed it using the 'top' (i.e., load) lugs instead of the 'bottom' (i.e., power) lugs and it did not work at all. I put in for a refund. I ass - u- me[d] that the power to load lugs were on common node on each side (i.e., the black wire side were internally connected power to load lugs, and the white wire were internally connected power to load lugs). The white wire, and I was using the push in and tighten clamps as opposed to wrapping around the screw and tightening, pulled out of the back of the unit, so it obviously was not properly gripping. I moved the wires from the load side to the power side (the top to the bottom of the unit oriented such that when you look at the front face, the plugs look like little faces) and the unit came to life after switching the main breaker back on. It works like a charm. I'm keeping the return and paying for it for a spare.

The screw connections were absolute maddening to use. You could loosen them all the way and it was just not enough space for the solid Romex to slide under. They kept falling back into the outlet and needed to be kept in place with a third hand.Once installed it worked fine ( make sure you hook up Line and Load wiring correctly). I’ve not encountered connections like this in my 40 year electrical experience.

We spent 3 or 4 hours trying to make this outlet work. Our 12 gauge Romex is stiff, the terminal nuts on the outlet are flimsy and hard to shape the wire around. The design of the box seems rather poor, it is hard to shape the wire into loops under the screws. We tried the poke in holes on the back for the load, but each time we tried to push the wiring back into the box, they came out. Ended up buying a Leviton for twice the price, installation took only about 30 minutes. Won't buy these again.

It installed easily and is working without any problems so far. All the negative reviews talking about that red blinking light and saying that it's a fault, it is not a fault it is normal. Read some of the positive reviews and you will see that that is it testing itself. Also some of the people talked about the difficulty in wrapping wires around posts, I don't know why because you're supposed to insert the wires into the hole and tighten the screw. I don't know what their problem is there is no wrapping of wires around posts.
