Blue Light Explained
Macular Degeneration Blue light (HEV) penetrates all the way to your retina and has been shown that too much exposure to blue light can damage light sensitive cells in the retina. This causes changes that are similar to those of macular degeneration, which can lead to permanent vision loss. Many eye care professionals have concerns that the blue light exposure from digital screens might increase a person's risk of macular degeneration later in life.
Digital Eye Fatigue Short wavelength, high energy blue light scatters more easily than other visible light and makes it not as easily focused. When you're looking at your digital screen that emit significant amounts of blue light, this unfocused visual light reduces contrast and can contribute to digital eye strain.
Sleep Disruption Blue light is very important in regulating circadian rhythm - your body's natural wakefulness and sleep cycle. Exposure to blue light during daytime hours helps maintain a healthful circadian rhythm. But too much blue light late at night can disrupt this cycle, causing sleepless nights and daytime fatigue. People who use their electronic devices before bed have a harder time falling and staying asleep.
Why Not Block All Blue Light?
It's well documented that some blue light exposure is essential for good health. Research has shown that high-energy visible light boosts alertness, helps memory and cognitive function and elevates mood.
In fact, something called light therapy is used to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) — a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons, with symptoms usually beginning in the fall and continuing through winter. The light sources for this therapy emit bright white light that contains a significant amount of HEV blue light rays.
Also, blue light is very important in regulating circadian rhythm — the body's natural wakefulness and sleep cycle. Exposure to blue light during daytime hours helps maintain a healthful circadian rhythm. But too much blue light late at night (reading a novel on a tablet computer or e-reader at bedtime, for example) can disrupt this cycle, potentially causing sleepless nights and daytime fatigue.

I couldn't get blue-blocking protection on my prescription eyeglasses anymore (wasn't compatible with anti-scratch coating) so I tried this screen protector on my home, office, and laptop screens. I no longer get "visual strokes" or eyestrain even after heavy use of my computers. So, although that's not "proof" that these screens block the offending wavelengths, I will not spend any time looking at a monitor that DOESN'T have one.The only downside is that it's difficult to apply without resulting in at least a few small bubbles.

It is a good screen, Help my eyes alot! only problem is that I had to cut it to make it fit perfect. Also you have to work for awhile to get rid of the bubbles that form after you put it on. I guess that is normal?

This does reduce the blue light, but the adhesive screen protectors leave bubbles all over the screen which makes viewing very undesirable. I would return them, but I already removed the sticky part and stuck them to the screens. Buyer beware this product is not made well and does not come with good installation tools. Just including an application squeegee would have made this a much better product.

The instructions were simple...too simple. So, I'll try help a bit.1. You may have to cut it to size: use a box cutter type blade and a straight edge. Make it 1/16" smaller.2. The material is tough, but soft. It will scratch or absorb a tiny dirt particle, or anything easily, so only cut/work on a very clean surface.3. If you try to snap it on, it will look terrible! Bubbles everywhere, and they don't come out easily, if at all.4. Know which side is #1 and #2. My first time I cut off the number stickers while trimming(doh!), but I lucked out.5. Clean your screen with a clean cloth and alcohol -- Do it twice -- Let it dry.6. Before removing protective film #1, check that it fits well by placing it on the screen as a test run.7. When your ready, remove film #1, and put one edge in against one side of your screen without laying it down.8. Put a gentle arch/bend in the protector and start to apply it about 1/2" at a time as you gently sweep up and down with your finger to attach it while keeping bubbles from forming -- see a bubble? Back up a little and start down again.9. As you get to the final several inches, hold tightly, or it might slip away and pop onto the screen. Not the end of the world, but it may leave a few bubbles along the edge.10. Once it's down, look it over really well. Do any fixes, cleaning or starting over before you remove film #2.11. That should do it! If you F it up, you probably bought more than one in your package, so you can start over from scratch -- or without scratch -- pun intended.12. Good luck. You can do it.

First, packaging is outstanding! I don't need all three light filters at present but the package is perfect to keep them FLAT and safe for another time is wonderful.Second, the instructions were easy to follow. Very few "bubbles" which were easily removed with the plastic tool.Third, and most important, the size promised is the size delivered. (Not so with my earlier returned filter.)A great product

This product works very well. My eyes no longer burn after hours in front of my computer. I highly recommend this product. Be aware of other brands, no all blue light filters work as described.Also easy to install, watch the suggested video. Moving slowly inch by inch, the glue does not instantly adhere. Any bubbles can be completely removed by lifting the filter back up, and relaying the last row. Two people recommended for the job, (one holding filter up and one pressing row by row onto screen). Results were zero bubbles on a 24" screen, perfect.Daryl

managed to attach them without any bubbles. had to clean one with alcohol because dust landed to the adhesive side. not sure blue light filter working or not, but don't notice glare as others mentioned in comments. having additional tools could've made the installation easier.Edit: It does work! It cured insomnia for me. Can work without any irritating feeling in the eye too.

Pros: Great thickness. Visible difference (more improved) between the glare before and after installation. Adequately thick.Con: wished it came with install instructions. I had to look at one of the images on the posting to get an idea of how to install. But a manual or paper so tructions would have helped.First install was a little trouble. Lots of bubbles but eventually got it right.
