Blue light hazards

1.Structural damage: harmful blue light has extremely high energy, which can penetrate the lens to reach the retina, leading to atrophy of retinal photoreceptor cells, resulting in vision loss or even complete loss of vision. Blue light can also cause macular degeneration. The lens in human eyes will absorb part of the blue light and gradually become cloudy to form cataracts. Most of the blue light will penetrate the lens, especially for children who cannot effectively resist blue light, which is more likely to cause macular degeneration and cataracts.

2.Visual fatigue: due to the short wavelength of blue light, the focus does not fall in the center of the retina. See clearly, the eyes will be in a state of long-term tension, resulting in visual fatigue. Long-term visual fatigue may lead to deepening myopia diplopia, easy to serialize when reading, inattention and other symptoms.

3.Poor sleep: blue light can inhibit the secretion of melatonin, which is an important hormone that affects sleep. The current known role is to promote sleep and regulate jet lag. This can also explain why playing with cell phones or tablets before bedtime can lead to poor sleep quality and even difficulty in falling asleep.

4.Causes glare: Due to the relatively high energy of short-wave light, the high scattering rate when it encounters small particles in the air is the main cause of glare. Patients with retinopathy and eye surgery (excimer surgery, cataract surgery) are very sensitive to light and experience abnormal glare, which is also caused by short-wave blue light.

Why not block all blue light?

Blue light is not all harmful blue light. What is really harmful is blue light with wavelengths between 400 and 450 nm, while blue light between 480 and 500 nm has the effect of regulating biorhythms. Sleep, mood, memory, etc. are all related to it. On the contrary, it is beneficial.

They attached perfectly but they did absolutely nothing for the glare of the sun on the screen

This is the effect I want, reduced glare and reflection, my wife's eyes need this blue light protection, the headache really relieved after installation, thank you for sending the installation video, it helps us to understand it intuitively. Remind everyone to clean the screen and hands before installation, otherwise fingerprints will be left.

overall, it installs easily enough, isn't peeling off, but doesn't provide enough glare reduction for the cost. I still have to close the blinds behind me to be able to see the screen well. fyi that I use my 43" 4k tv as a computer monitor.

It works - prior to this I could barely work with my glossy screen and a window right behind me. Now that its installed its more of a soft glow and I can see the screen details of what I am working on. The picture of the installed screen looks worse in the pic then in real life. I am actually very happy with this and it feels like a workable solution. Its easy to install especially with 2 people.Sounds great right? 5/5 stars? Nope!I have a 43 inch tv and a 43 inch glare screen and the screen tapes to the monitor screen NOT the black plastic border AND there is probably half an inch between both sides up down left and right that the screen does NOT cover, meaning I have a very awkward noticeable view of the taped edges when I look at any side or corner of my screen.... =( huge disappointment

I use a 43" Tv as a computer monitor and that means that I'm close to the screen and the reflectiveness of the TV screen is a lot more than regular computer monitors. The reflecting light always bothered me to see properly and placed a lot of strain on my eyes. The installation was fairly simple, two people is better than 1. Just tested it and I'm already seeing a huge difference. So I will see now using it for a day if it makes a difference but I'm already convinced that it will. Will post more once I have used it for awhile. I have another 43" TV screen and I will probably buy it for that too. Think it might even be nice to put on a regular TV.

We had a shop tv that the minute we mounted it for our daily service schedule, we realized the glare from our fluorescent lights was going to be a problem, so I found this and ordered it. I specifically liked the fact that a review mentioned it was adhered by tape across the edges only, and that the whine thing wasn’t sticky. Unfortunately I feel like trying to put it on a tv that was already mounted contributed to the very slight wave it has in it, but that was my user error, not theirs. They included plenty of extra double stick tape just in case the install goes wonky, I would imagine. Only docking one star because it was a fraction of an inch too short for a 43 inch tv, and the included cleaning cloths were not at all adequate for the job, but fortunately it was a practically new TV so it was pretty clean.

This was way too expensive for a poor product. Followed all directions and once the protector was on the screen it was impossible to see the screen - very cloudy. It's better just to deal with some glare. Missed the return window so wont be able to get a refund, but would return if I could.
