I do some hobby work, disassembling and fixing electronic devices. This pad really helps that work.It has rows of compartments along the top of the mat, which are great for holding screws/bolts that are removed as part of the repair process. This really helps keep things organized and makes it easy to put them back together in the opposite order of how they were taken apart.The unit comes with a plug that - only - connects to the ground plug in a standard outlet. The wire from that plug can easily be connected to the mat and wrist strapMy soldering iron on high was not able to melt this silicon mat! I love how durable it is, but it can be just as easily rolled up and put away

I have used this antistatic mat so many times I just leave it on my desk connected to an outlet. ( alright, my hobby is electronics and building raspberry assemblies for multiple projects). So I really use it a lot. Good quality mat. The wrist band is alright as well.Just a god tip for those who want to use any antistatic mat. The lower the Humidity, in the room, the greater the Static. Anything below 30% is to be considered a good reason to use any good antistatic mat.Hope this helps.

Some reviews mentioned a chemical odor, and indeed I noticed a very mild chemical odor when I unpacked it, but I've had it spread out for months now on my work table and I don't notice any odor. It came rolled up and didn't lie perfectly flat right away, but after about a day it has been lying nicely flat on my work table ever since.

I really liked using this for my PC build since it was a great way to cushion the motherboard while I worked on the ram, cpu, drives, and cooler. It was also very nice to have the areas to put screws so they wouldn't be misplaced. I wasn't able to use it for the main purpose of anti static because the cord was very short. It wouldn't reach more than 3 or 4 feet from the power outlet, and even then the tension on the cord was so high it would have pulled it off of the table. If you have somewhere to build that is very close to an outlet, this would be perfect, but for me I just used it as a workspace.

I loved the fact that it had plenty of storage areas for different screws and that it came with both a wrist grounding anti-static strap plus a AC plug ground point.Yes, it does smell a little. I see that the instructions say that this smell will go away quickly. Don't know if that is true or not as I received it yesterday and used it today.I used it for a memory upgrade for a 15 inch laptop. It could have been a little bigger, but for what you get in extras and the low price I have no complaints.To sum up it has plenty of storage areas for screws and such, it comes with an anti-static wrist strap, a grounding wire with alligator clips or if they are removed banana plugs. Also it has the AC grounding plug with two banana jacks.All in all a nice product at a good price. I give it a thumbs up.

The grey color is very easy on the eyes. The static-drain system is very good and easy to use. Great to use to build and repair circuit boards.
