Works well and is strong. I shortened the rope and use it to attach myself to small trees and brush. It’s nice not having to run up on the bank or on a sandbar anymore to stay in one spot.

I'll be honest, I bought this thinking it wouldn't work as everyone stated. I was wrong. It worked just fine. I spent a week canoeing and camping on a river, often we would have to tie off on the banks. Does it work on grass... I wouldn't know I couldn't bring myself to test it as I didn't' want to risk loosing the canoes. But it worked awesomely whenever I had to grab it one a sign post, branch or small tree. Even in parts of the river where the water was flowing rapidly. One night our camp did not have the space to pull the canoes all ashore, so we had to leave them floating overnight. The anchor did exactly what it was supposed to do. Other than the gentle bumping of the canoes in the current, there was no problems. It held three canoes for over 12 hours.
