This is a GREAT fit for my 2022 Soul… honestly, I didn’t know that my base-model was set up to install anything!The company provided everything i needed; with a step stool and a little bit of trial-and-error, I was able to install this kit all by myself and without damage.I was able to install foldable J-hooks with relative ease (again by myself) and everything worked well when transporting my kayak.The only negative (to me anyway) is that each bar tilts forward, meaning that the J-hooks angle the same direction. Maybe it’s just aesthetics, but it seems to me as though there might be undue pressure when an item is strapped down.

Well…I am one “Happy Camperâ€. Not only was it easy to mount the rack, it looks sharp. Our buggy has that outback look and is still a car. The box arrived on time, the parts were all there with no dents (even the box survived the trauma of shipping). I laid out all the parts and with the exception of a small flat heat screw driver to undo the plastic parts covering the attachment holes, the tools provided were all I had to use. I didn’t have to make any adjustments. Everything fit well. The provided guide was helpful but one must pay close attention to putting in the little screws that secure the rails from rattling between the four attached holders. Yep. I believe we not only have a cool new look. It’s functional too:)

I would give these 5 stars (very sturdy, look great) except that the installation directions omit the fact that each of the 4 mounting posts are different and the crossbars only fit in 1 way. Once I figured that out, it took me about 10 minutes to install them.BTW, the posts are labeled on the bottom R,L and have an arrow for front. As long as you put them in the correct places you'll have no trouble.

As others have said, installation is difficult. I'm a pretty handy guy, but quickly gave up on the long mounting bolts into a blind hole. I solved it by getting some threaded rod and cutting my own studs, which I threaded into the mounting nuts inside the roof, then dropped the rack on and bolted her up. Should have been designed that way.
