This shutter release cable can be used for autofocusing, continuous shooting or single image capture, and long exposures. It will autofocus on a half press of the button and trigger the shutter with a full press. Also, users can press the button and slide it forward to lock it for long exposures. Since you can trigger exposures without touching the camera, you will capture sharp, blur-free images. Additionally, the unit does not require batteries, which makes it an extremely useful tool to keep in your studio or gear bag.
1. Press the shutter release button halfway to activate the camera's autofocus. (The camera needs to be set to autofocus.)
2.Press the shutter release button fully to take a picture.
3.Press shutter release button fully and slide the button lock in the direction of arrow to lock the shutter release button for long exposure shooting (the camera's shutter needs to be set to Bulb) or continuous shooting (the camera needs to be set to continuous shooting).
4. To release the lock, slide the button lock in the opposite direction.

The shutter release cable works as described. When you mount your camera on a tripod, the remote release greatly increases your flexibility in composing and shooting your pictures. Once you frame the shot, you are free to adjust lighting and poses. Perfect for working with children. Additionally, extended exposure shots absolutely work best with a release that isolates unintended vibrations from the shot. This is much easier than using a timer. Packaging and shipping were good.

ive lost count of how many little camera gadget i have seen and wanted. This is one of them. lets me walk away and take the picture without having to be right in front to push the button myself. Works wonderfully ive owned it for a couple of years now but never left a review. Well here it is and this thing will keep working for you for a life time

Compared to the cost of the Nikon release for my D850 which failed, this is a great value. I will say the Nikon release lasted several years for both my D800 & D850 and was quite a nice design. Still these cables are put through quite bit of stress and are destine to fail with extended use. I decided to go the economical route and be able to get several replacements if failures occur. So far this release has preformed very well in the short time I have had it.

Connected easily to my Nikon and I could take pictures instantly with it. No lag or anything like that, however, I didn't realize until I was taking photos that you can push up the button and it does a continuous shutter release so you can take a lot of pictures at once rather than just pressing it over and over. Neat feature!The only thing that I wish for this shutter cable was that it was a bit longer. Great for if you're standing next to it, but if you're taking self portraits where you'd want to be a bit further away, it's not very long.

Bought a new camera (Canon), but it needed a different connection from the cable release I have for other Canons. It works well. Worth the cost.

Its far too easy to accidentally move the button to lock mode-while clicking away to capture a moment, the switch will slide to lock, killing the rapid fire at the worst possible time. Apart from this very annoying feature, I loved it.Im not sure why the lock mode must be so prominent.
