They felt decent but the compression is just not there. Probably good for lifting but didn't trust them to not ride up .

Great fit, style and color. I use these for workouts and love the built in liner. Very similar quality and look as much more expensive shorts.

I have been picking up these types of workout shorts lately to not only workout in but also work around the yard during the day. I decided to get these cheaper shorts and stop ruining my everyday shorts.Depending on the shorts, I typically get a large or a waist that is around 35 inches. The size large in these fit as I expected. The inseam on these is the 5†that I prefer and the built in liner is about 3†shorter than the inseam so they are never really going to show. The built in liner is not a compression liner. They are tighter on the legs, but overall they are simply a liner with a built in pocket for a phone. I found the liner to be very comfortable with or without a phone in the pocket and I now prefer this looser fitting liner compared to the compression liners.In the liner pocket, I put a Z Fold 5 and an older Note 5, which is 6.03x3.00x0.30in, and both fit well and were stable and secure. The two front pockets were standard deep pockets with a full zipper closure. The pocket on the center back was a more shallow pocket, but still fully zippered. It was roughly 6†wide by 3.5†deep, but the material has a little stretch so larger objects will fit. Overall, the pockets and zippers seemed well constructed.Overall, the fit and design of the shorts are good. The stitching is well done, and the materials are comfortable and of decent quality. They also did not have any annoying scraping sounds you get with some workout shorts. Be aware that until you wash the shorts, they will have a good amount of wrinkles. Overall, I found the shorts to be very comfortable, with no binding or riding up of the liners or shorts themselves. Compared to a couple of similar shorts I own that used compression liners, these are more comfortable and are now my go-to work and workout shorts.
