Pretty fragile - it broke into pieces almost immediately. That said, we bought it for my 7 year old… so maybe if an adult was using it carefully, it would last longer.It’s not a very strong magnet in general though. We were able to use the pieces to pull fillings from the dirt, but the magnetic quality just wasn’t all that impressive.

My four year old grandson in another state wanted a horseshoe magnet. I ordered this one for him and he loved it, he was running all over the house checking to see what it would stick to. Unfortunately the next day he dropped it on the tile floor and it shattered and he was very sad 😢 That is why I gave it four stars and not five.

A helpful tool during my magnetic/nonmagnetic lesson. My students had never seen a horseshoe magnet before!
