Our kitchen sink is made of porcelain. I've dropped too many ceramic "renges" (soup spoons imported from Japan) accidentally inside it, losing them for good, as they easily broke into pieces due to the hard surface After wasting tens of dollars this way, these wooden spoons finally came into my life...no more spoon breakage! I should have bought them much sooner.First, they feel softer and nicer to your mouth than stainless/metal spoons, even with hot food. Second, to my surprise, they don't stain at all and remain beautiful if promptly hand-washed after each use. They even survived Japanese-style curry sauce, which might tell you something. From yogurt or ice cream to Japanese-style rice porridge and clam chowder, they're truly versatile and I'm glad I bought two sets. Highly recommended to anyone who is sick of breaking and losing their ceramic spoons.

Beautifully shaped spoons! Love the texture of wood. Have only been using it for 3 wks on a daily basis, but veneer is holding up. Mind you, I don't put into dish washer. Spoon hooks onto edge of bowl so you don't lose your spoon in the soup bowl.

I got these as an addition to the wooden forks I bought from the same company. Like those forks, these are great for ramen in a fondue pot. These won't scratch the bottom and they have a nice dimple on the bottom to keep the spoon sturdy when you set it down. Very pleased with these and with hand washing they should last a few years.

The bowl of this spoon is more oval than round and a little deeper than some. The curve of the handle gives a nice angle to scoop the soup out of the bowl. The handle could be longer. By the time the front edge of my hand is set in the curve of the handle, my fingers are at the bowl. By laying the handle between my second and first finger and putting my thumb on the top of the end, I was able to manipulate it easier.

They are on the light, not heavy at all. It scoops up a good amount of liquid. Definitely a hand wash item. Love them!

This review is for the wooden spoon pictured in the center. I first ordered the spoons to see which one I liked the best when I received them in person. I ended up keeping all three of them. What we liked about this spoon is that it had a curve that made it easier for smaller hands to hold. It has a deep scoop so therefore perfect for eating soup and cereal "QUIETLY".

The varnish on the spoon started chipping after the first few uses. I ended up just buying metal. Better choice.

Shape is good. Spoons are nice. Light weight. Was expecting them to be made of somewhat denser wood.

I really like these soup spoons. They're really a nice fit in your hand and much lighter weight than similar ceramic ones. AND best of all you don't have to worry about dropping and breaking them.

Bought to go in a gift basket. They seem good quality and came packaged nicely. Wanted something different than porcelain or plastic and these are lovely. Will purchase these for myself.
