The 9oz candle is not properly shaped to allow the wick to burn efficiently. The candle comes in a tall slim glass container, with the wax and wick about 1-2 cm deep inside the container. Fires/flames require air to burn (hence the reason why lit candles burn out when you cover them), so without enough air around the flame, they either dwindle out or they simply burn poorly with a very small weak flame (as shown in the photos). This candle wick would burn much higher, brighter, and longer if it came in a short/wide container instead of the tall/slim container it currently comes in.And because the flame on this candle is so weak, the scent doesn’t carry very far. You won’t be able to smell the scent unless you’re sitting within a 2-3 foot radius of the lit candle. The scent was just okay; neither incredibly pleasant nor particularly off-putting. You generally won’t be able to smell it from across the room, and definitely won’t be able to see the flame burning unless you’re standing right over it.Lighting wooden wicks tends to require a bit more time to get the flame started, but this specific candle requires considerably more time/patience and will take you multiple attempts because it burns out so quickly and easily.Again, I got the 9 oz size so I can’t say if I would have had less trouble with the larger size. However, given how unimpressed I was with the 9 oz candle, I most likely won’t be purchasing the larger size (or any other candles) from this brand in the future.While the candle wasn’t particularly expensive, I personally don’t feel it was worth the money. Your experience may differ, but I myself wouldn’t recommend it.
