I couldn’t pass an Ohio w check because I had a check engine light related to the hood latch sensor. Going to a shop would’ve cost 150ish bucks. This part was 25 bucks, and as simple as taking out 2 bolts, disconnecting electrical, and disconnecting the small wire/bulb to take out old part (about 6-8 min). And about 2-3 min to put this new part in, and reconnect everything. Part works perfectly, and as soon as I was done and started the car- no more check engine light! Took 10 min and saved me 100+ bucks doing it myself w this part

My husband replaced 2018 Chevrolet equinox and it took care of the issue. Let’s see how long it stays that way.

Latch unit appears to be a OEM part. Worked perfectly on my 2018 Equinox. Cured the fault code p257 e.

We had to do some rewiring and adjusting to make it work. It would have taken 5-10 minutes if it would have been the right part for my car.

Didn't fit 2020 Chevrolet Equinox LS.When you buy part online make sure the parts in the picture look the same size and shape. The letch fit but the connector didn't fit. So I cut the old wire and connected to the new one but still have check engine light on.
