I am able to get very up close and personal with gemstones and the rocks that I polish with this sand it is super easy to use. No apps or connecting to WiFi and Bluetooth and all that. Within two minutes of opening the box I was able to take these pics!!

I like to do macro photography, and I also like taking pictures of slides with my digital microscope, but in between those two extremes is a place that this phone attachment can take you to.Pros:+ Fairly sturdy plastic cage with metal rails, it is easy to mount to my iPhone even it its Otterbox case.+ The lighting and lens reminds me a lot of my Moment lens attachments.+ Multiple lighting options are easy to toggle through with the select button.+ Pretty good quality results when taking pictures or even just viewing.+ The included eyecup is a nice perk that lets you use the lens without your phone.Cons:- Barrel distortion, flaring, and vignetting are among a variety of lens related issues I experienced from a photographic standpoint depending on zoom level, however none are too severe to be an issue if you keep in mind that this is a cell phone attachment, plus you can largely work around them without too much trouble.Overall, I couldn’t say how practical this is for use as an actual jeweler, but for a casual user that wants to get a closer look at the world around them this is a fantastic accessory. While there are some photographic issues to contend with, I still feel it is pretty decent for taking extreme macro shots, and for the price you can’t go wrong.Photos: The top layer of a 3D printed object, the storage bag it came in, and a Velociraptor bone fragment in my wedding ring.

This was a little tricky, at first, to to apply to my camera so as to obtain the photos that I was hoping for. But when I figured it out, wow! Great images can be bought right in your photo gallery, ready for sending to whoever you need to reach.

Product had no instructions and no specs on what kind of specs it doesn’t fit on a I phone 14 -16 the product is useless to me

Overall it works fine. Magnification is not 100x, if you consider that Apexel macro 100mm lens as 10x (I have both and tested them both - I am an advanced macro photographer). More like 31x that way. Photograph a ruler yourself to determine.Edge distortion (spherical distortion) is quite heavy without the diaphragm. With the diaphragm, SA is less but still very noticeable.Works as a good eye loupe. Back lens where your eye is is not big, so visual field is small, but still usable. Illuminated high magnification eye loupe on the market is expensive at around $100, so this is good value, if you want to use it to look at fungi in parks, like I do.This lens can be coupled with the Apexel macro 100mm (10x) via its bottom 37mm thread and produced about 5.4 times the magnification of the 10x (54x). Although at the cost of even shorter working distance and even worse edge distortion.Adapter is not easy to align, depending on which phone you have. On my naked iPhone 13 regular (non-pro), it cannot stay flat and exacerbates the edge distortion. I have to use the included foam spacer. On my iPhone 13 with thick Vena case, it works better but view field is much less. The edge distortion, alignment issue and misleading magnification almost make me return it. But I am keeping it as a portable eye loupe and I like the fact that it can couple with the Apexel macro 100mm directly.
