These are great steps as long as you weight them down.I bought 2 sets, one for inside and one for outside. The outside set I weighed down with 4 - 12 inch cement paver stones set on 2x2 beams I set across the frame and it was very sturdy. The inside I had a little more trouble with and ended up using plastic sand bags with about 80 lbs of sand and it worked ok, but could have used more weight. I also connected them together to help stabilize them.A couple of FYI's....the hand rails are not very sturdy and cannot support much weight so don't try leaning on them. And the rise of the steps is a little higher than I thought it would be so if you have mobility issues and can't bend your knees very much, this may be an issue.

These above ground pool steps are 100% worth the money. They have made our pool so much more accessible not only for my mother, who has a hard time with her mobility, but for our twin boys who are 2. They look wonderful too! They are very sturdy, easy to put together and install. Perfect size and fit because they don’t take up a ton of room in our 21ft round pool.

We purchased the blue and white steps and installed them in early spring, so we have been using them for a couple of months. The steps are really sturdy and feel solid when stepping on them. No bounce from floating or movement at all. Each step has raised circles for traction. They were extremely easy to put together. The rungs on the side allow for water to pass thru which really helps keep the algae from forming. Getting the steps in the water was a little challenging, due to they wanted to float. There are holes in the pieces to allow for water to fill them up, so just take your time and allow the water to seep in slowly, so you don’t get air pockets. Once in the water, we tied a 50lbs sandbag to each side and placed them on a crossbar inside the steps. There is an option to fill frame with sand, but we already had the sandbags from previous steps, so we reused them. The only reason for a 4 star, is that the rails are not as sturdy. They have a lot of give side to side,Also, if the top step isn’t in the water, it does get really hot. If you don’t have a colored step, this probably isn’t an issue.

I purchased these realizing I would have to fill them with sand. I did so according to the manufacturer instructions....as much as I could possible fit into them - and they continued to float in my pool. I then added 30lbs of dumbbells onto the bottom cross bar and that helped, but the only way to actually keep them in place was to screw them into either the pool railings or the deck so do not plan to have these free standing. Another big issue for me is the flimsy, cheap plastic railings. They are not sturdy and will most likely break after a couple seasons. Just watching my 3yr old get out of the pool I see them move much more than they should. I tried to get a refund and send them back but this company makes you pay for the shipping to return them as well as a large box if yours came damaged which makes returning them not much of an option due to cost. The box my stairs came in was torn in multiple places during shipping (which I provided pictures of) and they still tried to make me pay fully to send them back. Their customer service was terrible and only responded once to my emails. When paying over $400 for stairs I would expect much better quality and much better customer service. Would not recommend.

Steps were easy to put together, steps are sturdy, handrails are cheap and are not very sturdy, steps float at bottom step even after filling with water. Price was decent. Better than aluminum steps that came with pool. Buy weights when buying these steps.n

The stairs are sturdy. The instructions were not that great, however I have had a pool for over 30 years and have put together stairs similar to these, which made it easy for me. As far as the stairs floating, they all do. However my solution which I used with all my stairs, is to fill empty gallon jugs, with labels removed with sand. Two bottles on the stairs keep it held down with no movement. see the attached photos. I hope this helps everyone out there.
