Does what they are supposed to do, filters out a good deal of sediment and iron from water, possibly doesn’t last as long as a wound string filter

I have used the wound string filters, pleated filters, and then this type. This brand and type has lasted the longest (4 months in the winter, 2-3 months for summer) for my well which has a fair amount of flour-fine sand. I'm glad to have found these.
