These small moisture sensor are great. The work as described and have been very helpful in letting me know when my house plants are in need of a drink.

I must confess, before the Sustee Aquameter entered my life, my relationship with my plants was a bit like a soap opera. There were dramatic overwaterings, tragic under-waterings, and a whole lot of guessing games. But then, like a horticultural superhero, the Sustee Aquameter swooped in to save the day! This little gadget is like the Sherlock Holmes of plant care. It delves into the dark, mysterious world of potting soil and emerges with the answers you need. Is your plant parched? Drowning? The Sustee Aquameter will let you know! The device is as simple to use as a toothpick at a cocktail party. Just stick it in your plant's pot, and wait for the color to change. Blue means your plant is as happy as a cactus in the desert, white means it's thirstier than a camel after a long trek. No more guesswork, no more drama, just straightforward, color-coded plant care. And let's talk about the design. Sleek, minimalistic, and with a pop of color, it's like having a tiny modern art sculpture in your plant pot. It's so stylish, even my fashion-conscious ferns have stopped throwing shade! But the best part? The Sustee Aquameter has turned me into the plant whisperer I've always aspired to be. My plants are thriving, and I've stopped killing them. It's a win-win!In conclusion, if you're tired of playing Russian Roulette with your watering can, give the Sustee Aquameter a try. It's the plant care companion you never knew you needed. Your plants will thank you, and you'll finally know what it feels like to have a green thumb!

Prior to my finding these moisture monitors, I can’t begin to count the number of plants that I have killed from either over or under watering. These couldn’t be easier to use. Just stick one in the soil next to your plant and check the color as you pass bye. If it’s blue keep moving. If it’s white get out the watering can. This is especially helpful for succulents, cactus & agave as, I can tell you from lots of sad experience, nothing will kill them quicker than overwatering! Adding to the positives is your ability to insert a replaceable measuring, cartridge after 6-9 months of use. Pop it in and you’re good to go for another 6-9 months of protection. These come in 3 sizes, small, medium & large that allow you to compensate for the depth of your planter. The only con that I have found, and it’s really a very minor one, is that in larger (wider) pots you might want to use additional aquameters to compensate for differing moisture levels around the pot. Summing up - STOP KILLING YOUR PLANTS! - Buy a few of these. Your plants will be glad you did…..

When I first ordered these, I didn't realize that they came in small, medium and large. I also did not realize that they last 6-9 months. They do work well but I think they are expensive now that I realize they will stop working. New inserts are kind of expensive too. I think I will look for a longer lasting or more permanent alternative. I may look into purchasing the indicator that is used and try recharging them myself but maybe too much of a bother.

I bought mine in May 2024, and in less than three months, they started to constantly read wet even when the soil was very dry. For some reason, the longer ones work well, but not the shorter ones. The ones in the picture have been drying on the napkin for almost a week, and they still don't read dry.

For me is very simple to use and read. Once forgot to water the plant and turns white. Helps me to know when the plant needs water.

I think other people with the negative comments about them not working, simply aren’t being patient enough or giving their plants enough water. Or are just flat out doing it wrong.Of course if you pour water directly on them, the little fiber turns blue almost instantly. But that is not how these should be used.Stick the thing in the soil (I put mine near the base of plant, not further away). Wait about 10 minutes to see if the color changes. If it doesn’t, you know you need to water your plant. But don’t add the water directly on to or next to the little meter. Instead, water on the opposite side of the plant. That way when it turns blue, you know it’s good because the water had to come across from the other side and passed by the roots. Just be sure to drain your excess water (for plant health, Obvs.)Since purchasing things, and doing it the right way, I’ve seen a bunch of new growth coming in on my plants because the guesswork is gone. I need to water once a week, and my plants are thriving.Don’t let negative reviews discourage you from purchasing. If you need a little help with knowing when your plants need to hydrate without jabbing your finger into the soil, get these. They are cheap, reliable, and easy to use. Just use them the right way 🤣

I have a lot of houseplants. This is a great concept, but doesn't work. I had to dunk it in water to get it to register and then when I checked my plants with a water meter, it just doesn't match what this aquameter says. Just get a water meter!
