How to choose the right heater for your aquarium?
There are 3 elements to consider to determine the right heater for your aquarium size:
- Room temperature
- Aquarium water volume
- Desired temperature.
Most aquarium experts recommend that you determine your heater’s power in terms of watts per gallon (WPG). Typically, you will need around 2.5 to 5 watts per gallon in your tank.
So, for example, a 10-gallon aquarium would need a 25- to 50-watt heater.
Still, this is only a rough estimate—you will also need to consider the room temperature to make an accurate calculation.
If your room temperature is low, you will need a larger heater to raise the water temperature in your tank—a cold room may require more than 5 watts for each gallon of water.

KIND REMINDER: if you have a very large aquairum you are suggested to buy 2 heaters - put one at the left and another one at the right. This will allow your aquarium to have faster heating and more constant temperature.
Accuracy of 0.1℉
This betta heater is highly accurate in maintaining a constant temperature. It can achieve an impressive accuracy of 0.1℉, ensuring your aquarium stays at the desired temperature consistently.
Indicator Lights
The small aquarium heater has indicator lights. The red light indicates that it's actively heating, while the green light means it's maintaining the set temperature.
3 Suction Cups
To make placement convenient, the fish heater comes with 3 suction cups. These suction cups allow for easy and secure attachment in your fish tank.
Fully Considerations for Undesired Situations
Dry Run Protection
The mini aquarium heater has a safety feature that prevents it from running dry. If it's not fully submerged in water, an error code (E1) will appear. Simply submerge the heater completely in water to remove the error code and allow it to function properly.
Overheat Protection
The small fish tank heater has an overheating protection feature. If the water temperature exceeds 97℉ or 36℃, the heater will automatically stop working and display H1. It will resume heating once the water temperature drops to below 93℉ or 34℃.
Memory Function
After a power cut, there's no need to worry about reprogramming the turtle tank heater. The thermostat stores the last temperature setting, so when the power is restored, the heater will automatically resume its previous setting.

I loved it so much I’ve bought two! This purchase was my more recent one. I use one in my 20 and 5 gallon tank and it does amazing. I kept a thermometer in there just to keep track if the built in digital thermometer was accurate and surprisingly it was, the temperature alway matched up! The temperature tends to go up a degree or down a degree and partially I believe that’s due to Cali’s weather lol but besides that, it’s very stable and consistent. Definitely worth the money. I 100% recommend for 20 gallons and under, for bigger tanks I would say it would probably be better if you rely on those long heaters to better distribute the heat more evenly. Also from what I’ve seen, it’s very safe for plants and fishes that stick in surfaces, I’ve seen my hillstream loach and red lizard catfish be on it and not be bothered at all thanks to its protective layer!

I bought this for my beta fish tank. It’s easy to use and works well. I’ve had it for over a month now. It has not moved around. I will say that the cord is very short, but in my case isn’t a big deal.

Looks great, works great, and keeps the temperature at the right place! But when heating up, it makes an almost unnoticeable high pitched whine. Which happens all the time, because it’s always (expectedly) heating up to get the water to the right temp. Doesn’t bother me, but putting my ear to the glass, it sounds pretty loud in the tank. Doesn’t bother my betta, but still isn’t ideal. 50W in 5gallon portrait tank for reference. Size is perfect!

I purchased this because my small non adjustable heater was loosing the battle against ich. So I needed a more consistent heater that can achieve higher temps if needed.At first I tested this in a small 2 gallon test container to make sure it wouldn’t fry or blow up. I noticed it was not maintaining a consistent temp and thought it was malfunctioning. The temp was way off compared to my thermometer.Against my first assumption I put it in the tank. I was desperate so I gave it a shot. I’m glad I did!It works beautifully! Maintains an even temperature give or take 0.2 degrees fluctuations. Which is incredibly minimal in a 5 gallon tank.So far it’s working like a charm. Make sure you give it time to warm up. I have the 25 watt for a 5 gallon tank. It didn’t work well in a smaller tank probably because it was too large. So keep that in mind.Only con, it is pretty chunky for a small tank but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

Keeps the tank at a consistent temperature. I have it set at 78 for my Betta fish and Pleco. Doesn't take up a lot of space. Been using it for a few weeks. No issues so far. Good price.

I really like reading the temp at the heater, not necessarily the whole tank temp, Tank temp, has a lot to do with gallon size in relation to the heater amperage, and the amount circulation of the water, but I am using several of these, in every amperage they offer, I will never go back to the old tube heaters again.Anyone complaining of heater reading a temp different than actual tank water temp, you usually have an undersized heater, with insufficient water circulation. Any heater to perform properly needs forced water circulation to direct the water to circle the tank.

I ordered this to have the easy temperature control. For the first week it was amazing, but after coming unplugged it didn’t work properly. I could only adjust the temperature between 65-67 degrees, and the thermostat light on the front was glitching out. It wasn’t showing me all the numbers clearly and sometimes at all. I wouldn’t purchase this again. I did send it back and get my money back it because Amazon is amazing with that, but I don’t recommend. It will break easily and is too expensive for what it is.

Love it! So easy to use. I just have a Betta fish and he was hiding all the time. I put this heater in and slowly turned it up to 68°F over about 3 days and now he's swimming all over all the time 🤗

Me gusto mucho ya que como se puede poner en el piso del estanque, mi tortuga no lo rompe. Además calienta perfectamente bien y rápido. Ya llevo varios meses con él y no ha tenido fallas.Solo como tiene los agujerito alrededor del calentador, se le meten las piedritas del estanque adentro. Pero se enjuaga y lava fácil.

Funcionaba bien hasta hace unos dias que marca E1 y nunca se a quedado mi tanque sin agua, siempre a estado trabajando por encima del nivel donde coloque el calentador. Mis tortugas han estado colocándose cerca de la Bomba del filtro porque conserva un poco de temperatura. Pensé que durarÃa un poco mas y por mas que intento cambiar la temperatura siempre regresa a error y por ende no calienta. Tendré que buscar alguno que duré un poco más
